Description of the Onset vacation cottage rental

This cottage is unlike anything you have ever experienced. It is a renovated 1890's Victorian Cottage. It has a small beautifully landscaped front yard surrounded by a white picket fence. Normal high tide goes 3/4 under the house. Stairs lead directly to the water. There is a large wrap around porch and a sun deck. There is a full working Kitchen. The cottage does have Cable TV, and a DVD/ VCR player. There are 3 bedrooms, one double, two rooms with two sets of twins beds (4). The village of Onset, white sandy public beach and great restaurants are located within walking distance. Kayaks and motor boat rentals are located nearby as well. If you own your own boat, the public boat ramp is conveniently less then 200 yards. You can even fish for stripers /sea bass right off of porch (high tide) or walk down the street to a "fishing" bridge. Also from the porch and deck, you can enjoy picturesque sunrises and sunsets.

Onset Village is located in Wareham, MA just before the Cape Cod Canal Bridge (no fighting traffic). The Boston Magazine and Globe call Onset "the hidden Victorian charmed village." The town of Onset and the Onset Bay Association offer free events throughout the summer including but not limited to Blues and Jazz concerts in the park, family movie nights, festivals, craft fairs, fireworks, illumination of the bay, Kayak Poker Day, etc. Cape Cod Canal Cruises are available from the town pier both during the day and evenings.

Within 5 miles of the cottage is the Cape Cod Canal, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Tennis, Golf, Fishing, Water Wizz Waterpark, Miniature Golf, icecream, shopping, both local and chain restaurants, and much more.

Convenient Excursions include Plymouth, Martha's Vineyard, the rest of Cape Cod, New Bedford, Marion, Mattapoisett, and local Cranberry bogs.

Convenient location to experience all of Southeast New England. Never have to "fight" Sagamore and/or Bourne Bridge traffic attempting to go travel further down the Cape. At low tide, children (and adults) can go down to the water, explore, and look for shells, crabs, and small fish (minnows) while you sit back in a rocker on the porch, relax and always keep an eye on them.

• Deposits: In order to secure a rental, 50% of the rental fee is due at time of booking plus a security deposit of $250. This security deposit will be returned within 1 week after day of departure. The remaining 50% of the rental fee is due one month prior to rented week(s).
   
• Other Fees: No other fees. The cleaning / linen fee is built into weekly rate.

We LOVED our time at Grandview Cottage!! My family traveled from Georgia to Onset to fulfill a lifelong dream of my 70 year old mother to travel to Cape Cod. We also had a 3 year old little boy on this journey. The vacations started with a 22 hour drive up from GA (mom can not fly) and ended at this GREAT cottage!! The owners are great people who can answer any questions that you may have about the area, and give great restaurant suggestions too!! We traveled the entire Cape during our visit and never wished that we had stayed anywhere else. Every evening we looked forward to returning to Onset and The Grandview Cottage! Onset Village is very charming and has everything that you would like to see right there. My husband loved the fishing and my mom and I loved all of the beautiful houses. My toddler loved all of the beach areas and looking for shells. The cottage is beautiful and very inviting. All in all this was EVERYTHING that we wanted out "Once in a Lifetime" vacation to be!!! Thank you so much for helping us make it happen!!!!!

Visited with family of teen children and foudn accommodations enchanting. Obviously a well loved and tended home with all the amenities and a beautiful view to make it a relaxing and truly enjoyable trip. Whenever we thought we needed to pick something up - it was there!! The family owners were wonderful and went out ot their way to make suggestions and give us shortcut directions to venues. Location conveneient to beach, shops, restaurants - all walking distance, and grocery store and Walmart 10 mins away. PERFECT place for people visiting and wanting to see the Wareham Gatemen play! Perfect place if you want convenience and ambience without incovenience of cape traffic. Onset Beach is on bay whcih is perfect for small children and (whew)had tolerably warmer water than ocean. Could not recommend higher - exceptional experience...can't wait to go back!
