Otter Creek Lodge Large Family Rental

We had the time of our lives at the Otter Creek Lodge. It was an experience none of us will ever forget. I can't begin to put into words the feeling we had pulling up to the lodge. We were driving up the road, through the forest, and went around a bend and saw the warm golden glow of the lights coming from the lodge. It was awesome! We couldn't believe our eyes as we walked through the doors. All our senses were stirred. Beautiful soft music was playing in the background, talk about Zen! Steve, the caretaker, had thoughtfully put the stereo and lights on prior to our arrival. The views from the lodge and the property surrounding it are spectacular. The lodge itself is beyond words. It is perfectly and beautifully decorated with an Adirondack charm; so warm, comfortable, and inviting. Though the lodge is huge, there are many cozy spots to curl up with a book, crossword puzzle, or grandchild. My favorite spot was the leather chair near the fireplace and window overlooking the lake. The kitchen is to die for with high quality appliances. We loved cooking breakfast on the big commercial grill. Bacon, sausage, eggs and pancakes all at the same time, wow. Thanksgiving dinner was a joy to cook with the six-burner stove and double ovens, not to mention the triple door commercial refrigerator. The kitchen is well stocked with staples and spices as well as nice dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils, plenty of room for the whole family to cook together. We enjoyed the most wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, ever. All of us seated at the same table, overlooking the beautiful lake, with a nice glass of wine in hand, were priceless. Later we retreated to the great room and watched "slides" from our childhood as we enjoyed a beautiful fire in the fireplace (and more wine). My sister brought the old projector and slides. We hadn't seen them in many years. It was wonderful family time with the kids and grandkids. There were plenty of game boards and puzzles to enjoy too. My grandson asked if we could come back for Christmas? The day after Thanksgiving, we woke up to the most beautiful snowfall. I was hoping to get snowed in. At last we had the chance to rent Otter Creek Lodge and it was more than expected. When we arrived Steve (the caretaker) had some lights on and the stereo playing. Everyone said "ahh" what a nice introduction to Otter Creek Lodge. The kitchen was wonderful with the commercial appliances, especially the 3 bay refrigerator with all the storage space for food, the 6-burner stove, and griddle. We made pancakes on the griddle for 21 people. The dishwasher was very efficient and we were amazed at how fast we could get the dishes done. There was enough for everyone to do with the pool table, ping-pong table, volleyball court and basketball court and the wonderful selection of games. It was easy to relax there. The beach was enjoyed by everyone. The young adult grandchildren enjoyed the fire pit at night and we could hear the coyotes howling. One night the coyotes were closer than some people liked. I have recommended Otter Creek Lodge to several friends. If you asked me what I would add to your site I suggest you mention the wonderful games selection and that you have 2 coffee pots in the kitchen. We brought games and another coffee pot. I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful week at Otter Creek Lodge. It is truly the perfect spot for a family reunion. The home and the setting are just beautiful. The lodge, the lake, the grounds are pristine and peaceful, and also provide plenty of space for the kids (big and small) to run, play, swim, canoe.... to have an all around fantastic time! No one wanted to leave. This is our tenth reunion, and I must say this was the best set up so far. We've struggled over the years to find places that work for our family as it grows. The cooks were in heaven with the kitchen - this is the ONLY place we've ever stayed that is truly set up to cook for groups of this size. In addition to the dishes, pots and pans, you have everything so well stocked that it made our lives much easier when planning and cooking meals. The kids and adults were thrilled with the bocce, billiards, board games, and books, all available for evenings and our few rainy days. Cathy � summer family reunion

We absolutely loved our stay at the Otter Creek Lodge. The Lodge is beautiful (much nicer than the pictures on the site) and spacious. We were able to be together without feeling cramped.
