***Please Note*** Although the photo from the deck might lead you to believe you can walk out the door and curl your toes in the sand, this is not the case. VAL~MAR sits high on a bluff, with great views, and the sound of the sea below. The nearest beach access is approximately 6 miles both to the North and South. To the North are the beautiful Quinault Nation beaches, of which a pass needs to be purchased to visit. to the South is the free, public access beaches at Moclips and Pacific Beach

Located high on a wooded bluff 6 miles north of Moclips, this home offers privacy & views galore.

Beaches- The Quinault Reservation does have lovely, unspoiled beaches that are well worth exploring, and although the beaches are located just below the house, permits must be acquired from the tribal office in Taholah. To obtain the beach pass stop by the Police Department located in the main Tribal Administrative building in Taholah (137 Cuitan) For more information an internet search should provide the telephone number, unfortunately this site will not allow a telephone number to be posted in the area description. *currently the beaches on the reservation are closed to the general public. We are hopeful they change their stance on this soon.

Public beaches are located 6 miles south, at the Moclips approach.

Scenic / Guided tour - A guided tour on the pristine coastal beaches for a view of the rugged coastline, marine wildlife environment, and birds (particularly my favorite, the eagles) that occupy the “Quinault Coast” as their homeland*. This includes: (1) a driving tour of our southern, Pt. Grenville area (the Tribe's commercial clam bed areas), (2) a walking tour of the mouth of the Quinault River to view the river meeting the ocean, (3) a walking tour via wooded,coastal trails of the northern (north of Taholah - Cape Elizabeth, Tunnel Island, Elephant Rock, Hogsbacks, and Split Rock) portions of the Reservation's beaches. Lake Fishing - Fish for trout when Lake Quinault is open. Obtain a tribal permit and regulations to outlets near Lake Quinault. Again, visit the Quinault Indian Nation via a web search for further information.

Quinault Cultural Center - Visit the museum in Taholah at the Fifth Avenue mall to see natural and cultural artifacts from Quinault Country. Open weekdays.

This home is a great location to venture out and explore the Quinault Rain Forest, approx. 45 minutes away.
