Wonderful Weekend

My wife and I like to get away on our Birthday weekend, we rented this cabin for four days.This cabin is a wonder the woodwork and the amenities are unbeleivable, everthing you would ever need is here.We did all our own coking, all utensils are provided, the rental Lady was a joy to deal with,we go to Packwood a few times a year and this will now be our Birthday weeek trip from now on! We are thinking of getting the family together here for Christmas sometime it is a wonderful retreat!

nice cabin but noisy Highway traffic

The cabin was clean - that is very important to me. Jan was very sweet to leave us some welcome presents. Nice array of simple cooking spices. Plenty of space for our family. Biggest downside was the traffic noise. Forget solitude; When 18 wheeler's are going 60 MPH a few yards from the jacuzzi. I was woken up several times my harleys and trucks.

Owner's reply:

Yes, during the harvest season there is a lot of truck traffic on Highway 12. Unfortunately, Packwood and the cabin are nestled in a narrow valley along the Cowlitz River making it hard to escape the noise.

Being close to the highway makes Lake Creek Cabin easy to find, convenient for guests going skiing at White Pass, or touring the Park.

Even with the distraction this is still one of the most pristine and scenic areas you'll find in the Northwest.

Cabin is very lovely decorated and provides easy access to White Pass Ski area, where we were visiting for Spring Carnival. Owners have done a great job providing instructions on use of hot tub, etc.

Mountain Mist Chalet

After staying at Lake Creek Cabin last year, I was excited to return this season to Mountain Mist Chalet, particularly after seeing it under construction in 2010. The beautiful modern design and comfortable living space make it extremely appealing, and as before, Jan thought of everything we could possibly need or want! There is a lovely open space out front just perfect for dining or relaxation. The trees provide a wonderfully natural privacy screen, and the shaved wood chips helped keep things tidy. The campfire area would have been great except there was a burn ban on. I absolutely love the location of this property. It's far enough away from Hwy 12 to provide utter peace and quiet yet close enough to remain convenient to public amenities with easy access to Mt. Rainier. The only problem I have is in trying to decide which cabin to come back to next year! Whether LLC or MMC, you won't be disappointed!

We have stayed at Lake Creek Cabin and now at Mt Mist, both from Tall Pines. What wonderful cabins! Fully equipped, couldn't ask for anything to be added, it's comfortable, spacious, & has access to the river. Jan is a wonderful person to rent from. We would highly recommend these cabins and Tall Pines! We will be back.

we stayed here while on a ski holiday at white pass...really nicely furnished, comfortable beds...and the best stocked kitchen i've ever rented...hot tub great apres ski nice walk down to the cowlitz river for the dog...

Charming house with interesting local "randle wood" detailing throughout. Well appointed and super clean. Fun. Comfortable beds-always appreciated. Note: there was no iphone coverage in the area so the Wifi in the house was a nice amenity.

The cabin was warm and cozy. It rained all day and so we were stuck inside but it was so comfortable that we thoroughly enjoyed being stuck inside. Beautiful uniquie details all thru the cabin. Close to town if you need things. Loved our stay

We had a great time with our whole family (two grandparents, us, and our three little boys). It is a very nice and clean, and well organized cabin. Kitchen and bathrooms are in outstanding condition as is the rest of the house and property. The hot tub functions perfectly. The riverfront is very scenic, and there is lots of rocks and sticks to play with for the kids. Apparently, the riverfront access is not directly at the cabin as I expected, but about 300 yards away. We had a wonderful time, truly the only downside is that highway 12 is directly behind the house which can be quite noisy at times (but not during the night).

Packwood's Hidden Paradise

The most unique and comfortable vacation home I have ever rented. The cabin's amenities provided a relaxing "home" after a long day of hiking some of the most scenic areas in the entire northwest. It is evident that the owners have carefully planned out every inch of this cabin to foster a true vacation experience. I highly recommend it to families and couples alike looking for the perfect getaway.
