Some problems - not big

January 11, 2013

(1) Showers: The shower heads are situated for midgets. They are placed so low that trying to shampoo hair and rinse it in the shower one has to duck to get the water on your head. Who built this thing anyway? (2) Dishwasher: The fuss about pushing both sides of the dishwasher while manipulating the buttons to get the darned thing to start is crazy-making. Get a repair man in to fix it so that it responds properly. One you get it going, it seems to do the job, so it can’t be more than a minor adjustment. (3) Bathroom taps: The are all are extremely stiff. One goes from “no water” to “gush and splash” because the controls are so stuck. When the repair man was there, he put some silicone on them to try to loosen them up but it made little difference. (He says they get a calcium build-up over time). I think these taps are on their “past due” date and should be replaced. (4) Heat distribution: We couldn’t find anything to do much to regulate this, but our experience was that whenever heat came on the bedrooms both became extremely warm while the living-room area was chilly. There didn’t seem to be a happy medium regardless of where we set the thermostat. On the other hand: (1) The place is nicely furnished and tastefully decorated. (2) It was clean (3) The kitchen is well-equipped (although the settings on the microwave proved to be baffling. We think not all the settings are working, but the basic ones were OK). (4) Plenty of closet space. (5) Generally quiet location (6) Nice to have laundry facility at hand.

Palm Desert Resort condo

Our stay during the Thanksgiving week was very enjoyable. The unit was as described with new dinning and living room furniture and was recently painted. The view from the patio is outstanding with the mountains in the distance as a backdrop to the very green 3rd fairway. Also, the Canadian geese on the 3rd tee are beautiful and quiet. I would definetly recommend this property for 2 couple or a small family as there is a lot to do at the resort or within a short drive. George & Beverly
