Ocean View Chalet - Sleeps from 8 to 15
|Per night||$225 - $275|
The Chalet sleeps 8 (all in beds) and offers the option for you to add the guesthouse (the same property) and be able to sleep from 13 - 15 in total.
The Private King Master Suite with walk-in closet, private full bath and Ocean Views is located on the lower level. Also on the lower level is a Queen bedroom with a large closet, private entry to the downstairs bathroom and a peaceful view of the woods.
A cozy livingroom with a propane fireplace and a comfortable dining area (both with Ocean Views) ensure there is plenty of seating for everyone. The fully stocked kitchen with all major appliances (including dishwasher, garbage disposal and SS side by side refrigerator) provides all the comforts of home while you enjoy the 'great outdoors'.
A seating area and games table make the Sunroom a favorite spot with adults and children alike. Play games, do puzzles, enjoy a good book or sit with a hot cuppa while you enjoy Ocean Views framed by a giant 80 year old Oak tree. It's the perfect spot for a quiet conversation or to sit and watch the sun set.
On the upper level you'll enjoy 1 Queen bed with a skylight and sliding doors onto a Viewing Deck. Enjoy Panoramic Ocean views while you look out over what seems like the rim of the world. 2 twin beds round out the sleeping arrangements on the upper level. A bathroom and small but quaint office area also reside upstairs.
Additional beds are available for groups larger than 8 people. Please ask.
Less than a two hour drive from Los Angeles and less than 1.5 hours from San Bernadino, Orange county and San Deigo Proper, Palomar Mountain is one of San Diego County's best kept secrets.
The Cleveland National Forest is your playground! With four distinct seasons and a Sierra Nevada-like atmosphere, Palomar Mountain rises above the smog-line in San Diego's North County.
The mountain has a one-of-a-kind and very endearing Step-Back-In-Time feeling that is supported by the lack of any major 'chain retailers'.

We rented the small cabin along with the larger chalet together. Both very clean and well appointed. Kitchens really well stocked with everything you can possibly want or need. Lots of games, puzzles in both. Tremendous dvd and blu ray movie selection. Netflix also. Spectacular views. Lots of wild life. Night time stargazing at it's finest. Hiked and fished at the State park - a really beautiful park, worth seeing. Kids and adults alike had the best vacation we've had in years. We have already booked our summer vacation with Tracey. I can highly recommend this vacation rental. Only negative - The road going up the mountain was quite winding. I would advise travellers with kids who get car-sick to take the alternate route Tracey provides you with if you ask. It took us an extra 10 or so minutes, but well worth it and a really beautiful drive.
"Mike and Tracey - Thank you so much, it was absolutely amazing. We lucked out with fantastic weather. We explored your incredible property, played in the treehouse, relaxed and decompressed. The bed was so comfortable! Thanks again - this was just the type of getaway that we were looking for and desperately needed. You have an amazing place up there and you are extremely generous for sharing it the way you do. THANK YOU!"
