Write a review We stayed at the Balmy Oasis in Jul while working in the area. Prior to arriving we stayed 2 nts in another house around the corner. This was heaven compaired to the other house. Very well furnished, a ton of room, nice neat and clean, yard for our dogs, and AIR CONDITIONED. The other house had a window unit IN JULY. We travel to this area working 2 times a year, and look forward to being a returning client year after year. Thank you for opening your house to our family and being pet friendly. Hi Pat, Just wanted to let you know that we were getting ready to leave the cottage (very sadly I might add). This week has been wonderful. The cottage was everything we could have hoped for and more. Sooo comfortable and roomy. The extra addition you did is super. Everyone needs to experience PCB and your cottage at least once to get a taste of what Heaven must be like. Thanks again for sharing your home with us; we love it and Panama City Beach! Can't wait to come back!!! Thanks again, Sunny Day & Family We had such a lovely week relaxing and enjoying the Ocean at the Balmy Oasis Cottage. It was neat as a pin with a very family oriented charm. (We weren't afraid we would break something.)Very convenient to the beach and all the supplies that were for our use made it so enjoyable. Coodos to Pat Quin... a terrific host. We will be back. every thing was so nice in the cottage, you had every thing you possible needed and the beach is very close. it is very quit.we had 8 plus a baby and had plenty of room.the owners are very nice and you can tell they work very hard for you to have a great vacation.just bring your clothes and go grocery shopping when you get there and you are set for the week.it is a very very nice place, you have to see for your self.we loved it. If you're expecting 5 stars and granite counter tops and jucuzzi en suites, then this isnt your place. But it is perfect for those in search of a good time with great friends. A simple place that has that beautiful humble feel to it was what made this cottage feel like home. Everything you need including laundry, full kitchen and board games to convince you this isnt a sterile hotel room, but a "kick your feet up" and enjoy your tranquil surroundings place. The beach is literally 3 minutes by foot. It was perfect. Thank you Rich First, the Guins are very good folks to deal with, and have a very cute cottage to share. You cannot beat the fact that a policeman lives 2 doors down, which makes you feel very safe, after all, it is in a nice quiet neighborhood. Our 10 yr old loved it, and was never bored with all the games, books, movies. It was like walking into your relatives home, where it's not yours, but it feels like it. The location is outstanding. You cannot get a better location, near Winn-Dixie, the beach, and fun stuff to do, this cottage was perfect in every way. Thanks Guin Family for making the Hollis Family vacation so awesome! We had a wonderful time! It was very relaxing and layed back. Great for a family who wishes to escape the hustle of the main strip, but close enough to be anywhere in minutes. We highly recommend staying at the Balmy Oasis Cottage. If not for the house itself, but for the wonderful and super friendly owners. Our stay at the Balmy Oasis was truly pleasant. What a great hostess family. Everything we needed and/or wanted was right at our fingertips. Thanks for the use of the cabin. The sun and surf were great! - The Perkins Family (Pelham, Al) everything you can think of is at the house - grill, beach items, blender, blow dryer, books, games & movies!! i forgot the book that i was planning to read... and it was there!! the outside shower is a super plus. This is a great family to rent from -they truly want you to enjoy yourself while you are there :o) thank you!! This was our family's first real beach vacation and staying at the cottage was a great for us. The cottage is well stocked with literally everything you need (including a bunch of towels & beach chairs), and the kitchen has everything you need to fix meals (minus the food of course!). We enjoyed cooking there instead of eating out all the time & it saved on expenses too. The beach is a 3 block walk away, but it's really not that bad. There is a place I found to park my car two blocks down, beside a t-shirt shop, when I wanted to take alot of stuff down to the beach & didn't want to walk. The only minor issue was the hot water. It's has a smaller water heater & you can't take hot showers in both bathrooms at the same time. But, after a hot day at the beach, we didn't really want/need hot showers, so it wasn't really an issue for us. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed very safe. We'll definitely be back next year! Email me if you have any add'l questions... Everything was perfect at the cottage and the beach. We were very close to all the activities, but still able to rest and relax at the end of the day. Would love to stay again! We had a great vacation at this cottage! The location is perfect and the house is great! You can walk to the beach every day and have a great night out every night! A+! We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Balmy Oasis Beach Cottage. Our family of 5 felt at home there. We didn't want to leave because it definitely was an oasis for us. It was a getaway from the busyness of our lives and a place of family bonding. The cottage was roomy, clean, and pleasantly decorated. Very relaxing. No disappointments. Wanted to buy a "gift" for the cottage, but honestly couldn't think of a thing it lacked. Enjoyed my sunset strolls on the beach--less than a 5-minute walk from the cottage. One of my best and most memorable beach experiences. You'll love it. Balmy Oasis was a comfy, inviting place for us. Inside we had to space and features we needed. I really liked the looks of each room--especially the "Snow White" bedroom with three beds plus a fourth one that could be pulled out. We liked the easy walk to the beach. It offers great access to things and places we wanted to reach and our hosts gave us fine ideas of places to try. We invited some family members to join us and we were comfortable. As friendly, helpful host Pat said, It IS a pleasant home away from home. We enjoyed their books, the hammock, and beach gear. The pictures provided are true to what we found. In spite of a couple of plumbing glitches, our time was not marred. We spent six weeks away from the Central New York weather and came home to snow, snow and more snow. This was a great place to relax and to see the sights and enjoy the wonderful native sea food. The Guins were wonderful to us and fulfilled all of our requests. Do yourself a favor and spend some time at this comfortable oasis. Staying there was so relaxing. I fealt like the worries were all vanished away. To be able to go to the beach when ever I wanted to and to be able to come back to our(for the time we were there) little beach house and relax. It was great. Wil do it again next October. the cottage was great we had a great time it was a nice place to stay really close to the beach nice a quite very pritty we all had a grea time thanks Whataweek we had. Our kids had soo much fun and it was like being home away from home. This is the place too get away and just enjoy life. We will be going back as much as we can. Every thing you want to see and do is right around the bend . GREAT TIME. I needed somebody to pinch me because I thought I was dreaming I was having such a great time! I would just like to thank the Guin family for such a great opportunity. We went during the peak of spring break season but it was tough to notice. There was nobody on the beach on either side of us for at least 300 yards! Seriously we had the beach to ourselves and it was just what the doctor ordered for a RELAXING vacation! We really enjoyed our stay at the Balmy Oasis Cottage. The location is excellent...close to everything we planned on doing while we were there. We took advantage of the gulf-wading in the water, finding seashells, taking pictures of the sunrises and sunsets. Cinder Sue enjoyed the fenced back yard and socializing with the neighborhood cats. It was so relaxing there and had a feeling of being at home. THE COTTAGE WAS VERY NICE , QUIET AND COMFORTABLE BUT AGAIN VERY CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. THE HOMEOWNERS WERE GREAT. MY FAMILY , I AND OUR FRIENDS HAD WONDERFULL TIME. WE ALL LOVED IT. I can't describe how much I enjoyed our time in Panama City Beach while staying at the cottage. My family and I are adventure seekers. We love water sports of all kinds. Sailing, surfing snorkeling, diving, we love it all as well as golf, tennis and anything else you can do outside. It was so nice after a long day at the beach, in the water, or at the links to come back not to a sterile hotel room or condo but a place that was as comfortable and inviting as your own home. We were so comfortable that when time came to return to our home no one wanted to leave. Mrs. Guin and her family have a real treasure in their little cottage. I hope to be able to stay their again. The cottage made my stay in Panama City Beach very comfortable. I roomed with a total of 7 people and we all found the cottage to still be very spacious and convenient. I also liked the privacy and security I felt with the cottage because of its quiet residential location. It felt so much like home that all the kids on the trip just started calling it "home". The Guin family was also very kind to us and helped make our vacation go smoothly. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone and I hope I will be able to stay there in the future! we actually got some sleep this vacation. no noisy people next door or in hallways like in a motel. you could hear birds in the morning. beds were comfy,even my 11-yr old said so. we were also close to lots of stuff to do. we truly enjoyed our stay! ricky,susan & miranda The cottage was a wonderful place for my family to enjoy their vaction. 3 out of the 4 children we have were able to go and we brought a quest with us. So including my husband and myself along with the kids there were 6 of us. The house accomidated us very nicely. We really enjoyed having all the conveniences of home. Everything I could think of was there. With that many people we only ate out a couple of times so the grocery store was only l block up the road. Everything we needed was in the kitchen and we also put the grill to good use. The only thing that I wish was that the beach had been just a tiny bit closer but with the beach cart it made it alot easier to haul all our beach toys, towels, chairs, books, sunscreen, coolers, umbrellas, ext ext ext. :-)))) We had a wonderful time and will enjoy coming back again. The Ferris's and Friend Chattanooga, Tn A quiet,cozy cottage. No hustle and bustle outside the door, yet walking distance to everything! The furnishings make you feel comfortable,like you can relax and be on vacation. Master bed sleeps very well. That's important! Everything you need (and everything you forgot) is already here. We walked on Bid a Wee Beach alone, watched the sun set everynight, spent lazy afternoons reading in the hammock, grilled fresh seafood from Buddy's market, watched the boats come in at Capt. Anderson's, great dining at Pompano's, and drove to Cape San Blas to pick up shells. I could not have been happier. A great place to stay at a very reasonable price. Pat and Billy are wonderful, helpful people! Thanks! Guins - thank you for sharing your cottage with us. We have always stayed in condos on the beach with all the hectic,crowded hussle & bussle. This time - none of that!! Your cottage gave us a new perspective on beach life. It was so cozy and peaceful. We enjoyed the short walk to the beautiful beach and did things we normally never think to do - like play games and just sit and talk. The house is adorable - A great cottage with great owners. Pat & Billy, We stayed at your place with our 4 children and it was the first time ever that there were no fights! We all played games and grilled and enjoyed the beach. We had an excellent time and the cottage was wonderful! No complaints from a family of six! Would stay there again! We had a great time and the cottage was more than we expected! Pat was great and extremely helpful (especially when our battery was dead on the very last day) and we will be back next year!! We really enjoyed staying at the Balmy Oasis Cottage. The location was fantastic and the rental experience even better! I stayed in the Balmy Oasis Cottage for a week this summer and had a wonderful time. I had my mobility impaired father with me and he easily navigated the house and the handicap accessories in the master bathroom were very helpful. The cottage has all of the amenities you need and more. I think the most impressive part of my stay, though, was the wonderful support and service we received from the owners. It was truly a great vacation.
