General Presentation
49, rue Gabrielle, is the place where Picasso had his first atelier arriving in Paris. From this charming apartment, you will be able to discover Paris, as he did, from the top of the Hill Montmartre. You will look onto a charming village square and be few meters from the artistic Place du Tertre, walking distance from parks and typical markets and shopping areas.
The Apartment
Located in the heart of Montmartre, this apartment is ideal for 2 to 4 persons. Brightened by 2 windows, the dining room with its high quality sofabed (as comfortable as a regular bed for the night) and the bed room with full size double bed, are simply and comfortably decorated. Fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and WC. Comfort: Oaks wood parquet; Individual gas heating; isolating windows; sheets and towels; Kitchen fully equipped : fridge with small freezer, 2 electric stoves, Microwaves oven and grill, Espresso Coffee machine, toaster, boiler, dishes, ...; Dining room: wall library with HIFI, working table, table and chairs, convertible sofa.

Area Information
Montmartre is one of the most typical and suggestive area of Paris. The apartment offers you the chance to live your stay in Paris as a true 'Montmartrois'. Situated next door from Amelie Poulain's grocery shop, 1 mn walk from famous Place du Tertre, Moulin Rouge and Sacré Coeur, the Village is deserved by a specific bus (the Montmartrobus) who runs, every 10 minutes, form a side to another of the hill and stops just in front of the apartment. All around, bakeries, bistrots, pubs, cabarets and restaurants, are open day and night. Daily markets open on rue Lepic and rue des Abbesses.
Montmartre is the lovely and charming hill where it's good to be back after a whole day visiting the Capital.
30 mn from CDG Airport, surrounded by 3 subways lines (direct to Louvre, Concorde, Musée d'Orsay, Latin quarter, Champs-élysées, ...) close to North and East Railway Stations, walking distances from the "Grands Boulevards"

Return trip to Paris

This was a return trip to Paris for my daughter and I (15 years after the first trip to celebrate her 30th birthday!). On our first trip we had stayed near the Eiffel Tower and it was lovely, but we had fallen in love with Monmartre. Also, the idea of an apartment and living in a neighborhood really appealed to us. The apartment turned out to be perfect! The shops, restaurants, cafes, grocers, metros all conveniently located. And it was wonderful to feel part of a community...to see people coming and going to and from work and children to and from the nearby neighborhood school. A wonderful experience that I hope to repeat in the future. Also... Valeria and Jean-Yves were very gracious!

Great location, great apartment

We stayed for one month in this apartment and it was a lovely experience. It's near the metro station, it's in the heart of Montmatre but still on a quiet street. The kitchen is small but fully equipped so we could cook without any problems. The owners were generous enough to leave wonderful books and guides about Paris in the apartment so we also had fun reading them and looking for additional information. The only little problem we found in the apartment was that the shower area was a bit too small, but even so, the whole experience was great!

Wonderful Place to Stay

A family of four recently stayed 5 nights at the flat and we really enjoyed it. The location of the flat is wonderful (walking distance to two metro stations)and there are many very nice restaurants near by. The owners (Valeria and Jean Yeves) are also very helpful; we would come back again.

Nice apartment very close to Place du Tertre. It was very well equipped and logistically connected with any place by metro with a stop nearby. Very kind the owners and quite silent the street, to grant a good rest for the night. Picasso had his first laboratory right in this house and not far from there he created the cubism together with Modigliani and other famous painters.. You enjoy a romantic atmosphere and can jump into a bohemienne world just crossing the street. Sacre Coeur is very close to be reached by foot, "Boulangerie" and other different shops are also available. You could not ask for more...

Comfortable stay

We stayed for a week in this comfortable apartment and had a wonderful time. It's quiet at night and feels very much like a family home, with lots of lovely books to look at. The food shops in Montmartre are fabulous so we ate at home most nights. Going to other parts of Paris from here is very easy and Montmartre has lots of interesting places to explore too. Great walks!

We were very satsfied with our stay in the apartment at Rue Gabrielle,49. Located in thr heart of Montmartre,it gives the feeling of living the true Parisian life.The apartment is quiet and comfortable and is very close (no more than five minutes walking)to the Metro station.The owner,Mrs Valeria,is a very kind and helpful person;rates are absolutely fair.

We stayed for a week between Christmas and New Years. The apartment was cute and clean. We have been to Paris several times before and the location of this apartment was by far the best yet. The neighborhood was terrific and very French. The owner was very helpful and reasonable to deal with. We would HIGHLY recommend this apartment to others!

Top Montmartre was a wonderful venue for a week in Paris. The neighborhood was wonderful, full of energy and fun, close to transportation. The apartment was simple, comfortable, with all we needed. Quaint and Pretty House

We just spent a week in JY and Valerie's house in Montmartre. This was our first time in Paris - I must say the house was our haven for those eight days. Its a lovely house, with beautiful light and atmosphere. The windows look out into a pretty cobblestone street. The main Montmartre square and Sacre Coeur is just a few minutes away. Every day we walked around Montmartre we would find another fascinating and beautiful place. The hill is like a treasure house! The rooms are comfortable and homely, I did'nt once feel like I am not in my own house. The kitchen is well stocked and easy work in. JY and Valerie are exceptionally warm and friendly people. I would recommend this flat to my friends and to anyone else visiting Paris.

The quarter sounds just magic: Montmartre!! The building full of history (Picasso used to go up and down the stairs becouse of his atelier). The apartment is very cosy. We have to say thank you to Valeria and Jean-Yves if our stay in Paris was really unforgettable.

My friends and I absolutely loved our stay at this apartment in Paris. The owners were very nice and helped us with anything that we needed. The apartment is spacious and lovely. Very close to the metro, cute shops, bakeries and restaurants - not to mention the top sights in Montmarte. Would definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed a wonderful week exploring Montmartre and Paris from our very well situated and comfortable apartment. The owners are gracious and helpful, and had the kitchen stocked with necessities when we arrived. Mere steps from restaurants and Sacre Couer, nevertheless quiet, private, and relaxing. What a gorgeous, comfortable, cosy corner of Montmartre - so convenient for everywhere in Paris with the metro close by. It was just SO perfect for a weekend away. Also, much appreciated were the details such as the fresh flowers, the fruit and all the kitchen extras. Nothing was missing and I will be spreading the word among friends!!
