Description of the Paris vacation apartment rental
What other guests say:

"My stay at Francois' flat was very enjoyable. The location was incredible--very close to many museums and other Parisian sights. I was particularly taken with the neighborhood's plentiful assortment of restaurants, cafes, and boulangeries.
The photos of the flat were accurate, and the living space was very clean. The kitchen area was fully stocked with any kitchenwares you would want when preparing a meal. The internet signal was strong and the television's cable service was a nice treat.
The other residents in the building were pleasant and the building was quiet at night.
Francois was responsive when I emailed with a few questions during our stay. He was/is great. I'd happily stay at Francois' flat for another trip to Paris." Jim

"We had a fantastic stay at Rue St Honore. The apartment could not have been better located and was very clean and well equipped. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it very highly to others. The service we received from Francois was excellent." Hannah

"The flat is great and works for a family of 4. It is stylish and modern and makes you feel like you are living in Paris and not just staying there. The living room has a place to sleep and there is an additional bedroom. We actually chose to put the 2 kids in the bedroom, so that they could sleep earlier and we stayed up with a glass of wine in the living room and then slept on the pull-out sofa. It was comfortable and no problem for adults to sleep on - and we are usually picky with matresses! The location was amazing and friends stayed in the hotel across the street. The bathroom has a tub/shower and a washing machine, which was helpful. It is a busy bustling street in Les Halles - we only bought metro tickets for 3 of our 7 days - the rest we walked and walked. Many things you would want to do in Paris are in walking distance. The 4th floor means a good view and extra exercise after all that rich French food. We would stay here again - our kids even started calling the place "home."" Christoph

"We really liked our stay in this lovely apartment in central paris. The location cannot be better as it is next to Les Halles and walking distance to the main sites. The apartment is bright, quiet and can easily accomodate 4 people. The host welcomed us with a fresh baguette and all basic groceries (coffee, tea, butter, milk, etc) were present to make us feel at home immediately. There is no elevator to reach this 4th floor apartment which was not a problem for us but should be taken into account when you book. This is really a hidden treasure in Paris. An absolute recommendation !" Alexandra

"We stayed for four nights in this beautiful apartment in November. We are a group of 3 girls, and it was perfectly located for absolutely everything. literally one street away from the Rue de Rivoli for shopping, or Rue de Louvre for sightseeing. Rue St Honoré itself is full of artisan bakeries, grocers and wonderful cafe's and bistros, the location simply couldn't be better. The apartment itself has been wonderfully furnished to include absolutely everything you could possibly need but neatly tucked away to give plenty of space. We never felt we were in each other's way or cramped in any manner. It is bright, airy, warm and comfortable. We returned there to eat wonderful food almost every day which is a great way to save money for the more important things like shopping! The manager was very accommodating, he arrived on time, and facilitated us in every manner, even allowing us to leave our bags there on the last day for a few hours so we could shop in peace without them, overall I would highly recommend both the location and this apartment, I simply don't think we could have done better. PS, we all felt completely safe in this area no matter what time of day or night we were coming home. " Talia

"Very nice apartment situated in a great location and very nice neighborhood. The apartment is located in a street with a few bistros, cafes and small shops. Much is from there on foot, but the station is also nearby. We were on time and kind of Olivier, the housekeeper, and had even received the opportunity on departure to stay there a little longer than usual. Conclusion: Clean, well equipped apartment in a perfect location. We will come back again for sure." Kevin

"This flat was perfect for our needs. The location unparalleled. Our host, François, is kind and very helpful. His associate, Olivier, who welcomed us was efficient and also helpful. It is a special place to spend a week or more for a couple." Karen

"The apartment is definitely a home away from home. We were comfortable there. It is conveniently located and within walking distance from the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Place Vendone, Palais Royal and Jardin des Tuileries and not forgetting the high end luxury shops along Rue Saint-Honoré and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
I recommend Francois' apartment to fellow travelers." Tanny

"Francois was the perfect host. Communication was excellent. When I emailed him a question, Francois responded right away. David met us at the apartment the day we arrived and showed us how everything worked. The apartment was great and exactly how it was described in the listing. What you see in the photos is exactly what the apartment looks like. Very neat and clean with modern upgrades, full kitchen, a small washer in the bathroom and free Wi-Fi. The location on Rue St. Honore was within a short walking distance to the Louvre, Royal Palace, Tuileries Gardens and Notre Dame just across the Seine. There is a grocery store right around the corner on Rue Berger to buy food, snacks and wine. You will be surrounded by restaurants on every corner. Check out Louise Cafe on 8 Rue Croix des Petits Champs. Louise was the best host! I highly recommend this apartment. We very much enjoyed our one week stay in Paris." Leslie

Area Info

It is the chime of the Saint Eustache church that will gently remind you that it is time to enjoy your breakfast and start a beautiful day, why not go downstairs and buy yourself some of these croissants the Julien Bakery earned its reputation for? You will soon find that you are a walking distance from everything, Pont Neuf, Tuileries, Pont aux Arts, Saint Germain-des-Pres, Beaubourg, Opera Garnier, Le Marais, Montorgueil, Le Louvre, Palais Royal, yet this place is fantastically peaceful and nurturing.
Whether you are into restaurants, upscale fashion boutiques (JC de Castelbajac, Espace Pierre Cardin, VANS...), history, beauty, mind and body development or culture, there will be something for you here! Groceries galore, famous restaurants, beautiful shops and trendy places are the norm here. Set your own pace by strolling the walking streets like and enjoy an incomparable day of indulgence and eye feast!
When you are back from a long day out, and even much later at night, you will still be able to buy some food and drinks at the numerous groceries around to your heart content. A night out can also mean taking a dive with the kids in the near-by swimming pool, having a masseur come and take care of your sore legs, or chilling out at one of the many comfy cocktail bars around, the world is your oyster!
If you are in a romantic mood, a stroll along the Pont Neuf and the Pont des Arts (bring a small padlock and a permanent marker pen with you) is guaranteed to fill your heart with warm memories. Otherwise, why not sample some delicious food from one of the many take-away places downstairs, with a nice bottle of wine quietly at home?
The place is warm and inviting, it's very bright and airy, and I have designed it to make it as welcoming as possible. Here you will recharge your batteries in no time! The bedroom is fantastically quiet even when the windows are left ajar, and the living room is fantastically bright. Very accommodating up to 4 people (best is 2), the apartment is endowed with comfort and unobtrusive practicability (a bedroom with twin beds, a living room with a pull out sofa accommodating 2). Bring your sweetheart here and memories of a life time are guaranteed!

This building is filled with history. Firstly, it is a classified monument (a beam in the apartment up mine on the 5th floor shows 1636. The caves are a bit over 1,000 years old and they are impressive! We used to have a corridor running underneath the street with a connection to the basement of the building facing ours, but unfortunately, it was sealed a few years back, the wall of bricks can still be seen in the cellar.

On the 10th of May 1610, the beloved Henri the IV, after being stabbed by Ravaillac, was transported in front of the apartment to "Le Bourdon d'Or", an "apotheque" (chemist and alchemist back then) for an emergency treatment, before being taken to Le Louvre where he passed away.
That building can be seen from the apartment where a couple of benevolent ghosts might at times be encountered (2 men, a potbellied 60ish one, and a 30ish slender one, elegantly dressed up). Back in the 17th century, they used to make candles for Versailles castle. They are well meant and behaved, there is no need to be scared if you spot them, they cannot, and will not harm you, they are just curious of what happens with the place the love so much (just like me).
The building cannot accommodate a lift as it is too old. The apartments here have high ceilings and this one is on the 4th floor (plus ground floor). Keep this in mind when packing your luggage!

Taxi from and to Charles de Gaulle Airport 45 minutes, 55 euros. Metro stations: Louvre, Chatelet-les-Halles, Pont Neuf. The RER B will take you to Orly or Charles de Gaulle Airports in no more than 45 minutes, when they are not on strike!
