Description of the Perry vacation cabin rental

Wonderful 125 year old antique log cabin on water's edge.
Fully updated.
Hot and cold running water, heat. Completely equipped kitchen, bed and kitchen linens provided.
Morning sun on entry porch with spectacular sunsets visible from decks.
Kitchen, Dining room, cozy living room focused on original stone fireplace, charming build-ins, also in the living room. Two large decks on lakeside of cabin. Modern bathroom with shower.
Three sleeping areas upstairs.
Many original fixtures and furnishings in the cabin, with twig furniture and antiques.
Outdoor steps to lake side and dock.
Boyden Lake is a large seasonal lake with Brookside Cabin being on the quiet end of the lake. Good fishing-landlocked salmon, pickerel, small and large mouthed bass. Maine license required. Good swimming.
Boat landing at opposite end of lake, hand carry boat launch on premises.
Occupancy- five maximum
One well-behaved pet welcomed- call Owner to discuss.
Outdoor smoking only.

Area Information

Perry is a small community with freshwater lakes and shore front access. It is 10 miles from Eastport, Maine, the easternmost city in the United States.
There are hiking paths, picnic areas and a playground all available to the public in Perry.
Local convenience stores and small food and gift co-operatives provide all food items necessary- so no long trips for groceries necessary. There is also a cheese and wine shop located in Perry, along with a cooking school.

Being newly married, I wanted to surprise my husband with a charming retreat that had all the modern amenities plus adventure. We found this and so much more. Breathtaking sunsets, pristine swimming, complete privacy and memories to last a lifetime. With Eastport and Canada so close by you can be as busy as you choose or sit back on the deck eating lobster watching the bald eagles all evening. We hope to return soon. If you are lucky enough to visit only tell the people you cherish the most. This is a very special destination!

We were guests at an evening party in this wonderful historic log cabin. The details and built-in fixtures most reminded me of lodges I've visited in the Adirondacks. The large lakeside decks are perfect for outdoor living, and the main sitting room, focused on the original stone fireplace, kept us together and talking well into the evening. Even though I live in Perry myself, I wouldn't hesitate to stay in Brookside. We know the owner and resident caretaker, and think they are most hospitable as well, adding a lot in interest and local color (the caretaker) to a visiting experience. The convenience of running water, plumbing, and up-to-date kitchen area would make a visit so easy. Plus! Boyden Lake is easily accessible via a staircase and dock right off the deck.
