Description of the Phippsburg vacation cottage rental
Wake up to southwesterly views of Casco Bay, breathe in the salt air, and watch the comings and goings of local lobstermen as you adjust to a slower pace. In fact, any one of them would be happy to provide you with dinner fresh from the boat. Down a short right of way, kayaks, which can be rented nearby and delivered, can be launched from a small pebble beach where Adirondack chairs and a cedar picnic table overlook the water. The beach, with its tide pools, sea glass, and other treasures, is a magnet for children of all ages, and one that will provide hours of entertainment.

This beautifully renovated, immaculate cottage at the mouth of the New Meadows River is only an hour north or Portland and just steps from the high tide mark. A kitchen, dining room/living room, sun porch, bedroom with twin beds, and bathroom complete the downstairs of the cottage. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, each with a full-size bed. The cottage has electric heat for guests in early spring or late fall.
Area Information
Just a mile away are an ocean side 18-hole golf course, waterfront spa, kayak rentals, sailing trips, deep sea fishing, bistro dining at the Pilot House, and casual outdoor dining at the Ledges Pub - all open to the public and located at Sebasco Harbor Resort. A brief walk will take you to Anna's Water's Edge Restaurant, and only two miles away is Totman Cove Preserve, a beautiful, undeveloped beach for residents and their guests. A short drive will take you to hiking on Morse Mountain, swimming at Popham Beach State Park, exploring at Fort Popham, and lunch or dinner at Spinney's. A state park pass in included in your stay.

Bath, with its many antique stores and the Chocolate Church Arts Center, is only a fifteen-minute drive. Easy day trips can be made to charming Camden or Boothbay Harbor , L. L. Bean and numerous outlets in Freeport, and the historic Old Port in Portland. Cultural attractions include the Portland Museum of Art in downtown Portland, the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and the Farnsworth Museum up the coast in Rockland. At nearly Bowdoin College, the Maine State Music Theater offers professional summer theater at its best.

This is the perfect cottage if you plan to attend a wedding on the Phippsburg peninsula. It's close to Sebasco Harbor Resort, as well as other popular wedding locations such as Small Point or the Popham Chapel, yet is reasonably priced so that you can afford to stay for the entire week. If you're traveling all the way to Maine, why not make a vacation out of it?

The local area has much to offer, and whether you prefer to stay active or relax in the sun at the beach, you'll enjoy your stay in these bright, breezy surroundings.

PLEASE check my calendar. It's ALWAYS up to date. (There is a 3-night minimum stay in the spring and fall.)

If you call and leave a message, please speak slowly and repeat your phone number, slowly.

Family Time Fun

What a great place to have a vacation. The beaches were close and clean. Our viset to Bath was a great time had by all. There was lots to do and great weather. The lobster shacks right down the street was the best ever. The cottage itself was very nice. We all had a great time.

Owner's reply:

Thank you for being great guests, Cecile. We are certainly blessed with beautiful beaches in Phippsburg. Our local Totman Cove is a real gem, so private and peaceful, and Popham Beach is at the other end of the spectrum with lots of waves and miles of sand to walk and explore. You were here at a great time too with Heritage Days going on in Bath. Things have quieted down just a bit since then!

This is the perfect ideal house to stay in while away from your own home! The beds are wonderful to sleep in, sunroom relaxing to enjoy family and friends, kitchen very well ready to cook anything. The shells were the icing on the cake! We have some wonderful treasures to go with our summer photos. We are keeping this home rental bookmarked for the future! :)

Great Place!

Do not look past this rental! It has everything you need for a lovely vacation. We only stayed 2 nights, but had a great time. Kathy pays attention to every detail to ensure your time at the cottage is very relaxing. We loved searching for sea glass and playing games. We stayed Fri & Sat night with 4 Adults and a dog.

Beautiful Solitude

When we entered the house there was a wonderful loaf of blueberry coffee cake waiting for us. The home itself was as advertised, beautiful hard wood throughout, very well lit and warm. The hidden charm was the closeness to the ocean and the very nice neighbors that are around the house. We got eggs from farmer down the street. We had several meals at the restaurant down the street. The manager of the restaurant had a son that my son really hit it off with. I think that when we were not touring we felt really at home and on the last day when it rained we were more than content to just sit around the house and play games! Kathy was a great hostess that gave us tips and suggestions as well as giving us some lobster buoys when we asked her where we could buy some. We have never stayed at a hotel/inn or B&B where we felt more comfortable! Thanks so much.
