Simple, comfortable, and difficult to leave, this 3BR, 2BA chalet is perfectly nestled between Woodstock and Phoenicia in the beautiful Catskill Mountains. Just 2.5 hours north of New York City and a short walk to the picturesque Esopus Creek, (great trout fishing, swimming and tubing), its the perfect getaway for couples, families or groups of friends.

The open living room/kitchen is at the heart of the house. Curl up on the couch next to the wood stove fireplace, or map out your day at the kitchen table. A great room to gather and entertain.

The back deck, complete with grill, full patio furniture set, and 5 person hot tub sits above the large back yard.

The two upstairs bedrooms and one downstairs bedroom each have queen beds. There's also a full size futon in the downstairs den. In all, the house comfortably sleeps up to 8.

The downstairs den is perfect for the kids to watch a movie, or to sneak away for some quiet reading.

Area Information

The house is located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, an area known for its beauty, history and adventure. Weather its skiing, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, tubing down the Esopus, or simply looking at the gorgeous fall foliage, the Catskills truly has something for everyone.

Near to Hunter Mountain and Belleayre Mountain, two of the regions best ski mountains.

Downtown Woodstock is a 10 minute drive. Main Street Phoenicia (home of the famous Sweet Sue's breakfast restaurant) is a mere 3.5 miles.

Anniversary stay

October 22, 2012

If your looking for rustic and peaceful, this is your place. Nothing fancy, and the beds are a bit bouncy, but overall is was a great experience. The hot tub was nice too, but does take a few hours to heat. Not unusual but because we had a short stay it limited our time. Washer and Dryer came in handy too. We would have liked a bigger bed and the ability to watch TV in the bedroom.

Cozy Mountain Retreat

My boyfriend and a few friends went down for a long weekend, and had an wonderful time. The upstairs was super cozy, the hot tub on the deck is fantastic and the fireplace was key. All crucial ingredients to warming up on a chilly winter weekend! There are tons of trees on the property, and I bet it's gorgeous in the fall or summer too. Matt was really very helpful and easy to deal with. He was always available when we had questions, and super friendly. The 24/7 farm stand down the road was an excellent surprise too! And Sweet Sues in nearby Phoenicia is a must for brunch.

Great fishing trip

My friends and I stayed at The Catskill Chalet for three nights during our annual fishing trip and had a blast. The Chalet is very comfortable and the back deck was awesome for relaxing after a long day of fishing. The Chalet is very conveniently located five minutes from Phoenicia where the best breakfasts awaited each morning at Sweet Sue's as well as any basic necessities we may have needed. Matt was very pleasant and all the paperwork and payments went very smoothly. We will be back again!!

Nice wooded location in a residential area. Big yard for the dog to run and play outdoor games in. Very nice hot tub to relax and enjoy the beautiful stars at night.

Q:What makes your vacation rental special?

A:Our home is extremely cozy. Sitting by the fire you can look out the picture widow at the tall pine trees and the mountains beyond them. It's nestled our a quiet country road just a few hundred feet from the river.

Q:What are the most fun things to do at your vacation rental?

A:The chalet has the perfect balance - secluded enough to feel like you're on a true escape, but close to so many fun activities. There are hiking trails nearby, fishing and swimming in walking distance and a short car ride to downtown Phoenicia for tubing, restaurants and a little nightlife. It's also in earshot of the Emerson Spa for a little pampering. Many of our guests hit the slopes at Hunter Mountain in the winter

A:Yes! The hot tub runs year round!
