On Pine Island at St James City. This Guest Rental has a waterfront setting few on the island have. The long canal setting gives you a wonderful wide open water water view from inside and outside. Tastefully decorated with newer tile throughout the home (no carpeting anywhere) giving you the assurance that the home is completely sanitized between guests. Some of the best fishing to be found, a prime boating community and is a true Bird watchers Paradise! Watch for the dolphins that often come play in your back yard canal. Listen for the sounds of the Osprey that are common every day sights. Not far are many Islands only accessible by boat. There are kayak rentals or bring your own. Included with rental is your own private boat dock for fishing or for storing a small boat. In the area are charter boats that you can take half or full day fishing trips. Walk, bike or kayak to nearby waterfront restaurants. Enjoy the Pelicans, Egrets and Herons that are seen in your yard daily. Serenity and peaceful seclusion on this island that awaits you. Bikes included for use with rental. And a old but still useful canoe is available to use.

Pine Island is known for fabulous fishing! Some of the best Tarpon Fishing is found in the Charlotte Harbor right off of Pine Island. Enjoy fishing or kayaking in your own canal or book a charter trip from Matlache nearby.

Bike-Boat or walk to Woodys a wonderful open-air Restaurant nearby. Large deck with great food, delicious margaritas and wonderful atmosphere .Dress is very casual. Also in the area, you can buy many kinds of fresh fish and sometimes very large fresh shrimp from the local commercial fishermen.

Fish from the long pier at Bokeelia, at the opposite end of the island.
And while you are there eat at Captain Cons for a wonderful waterfront dining experience. Excellent and reasonably priced food. Dress is very casual.

In route to Pine Island, you will pass Matlache, a colorful laid back Keywest style area of art galleries, boutique shops, restaurants, bait shops and people fishing from the bridges. Don't forget to stop at the area fruit stands for local fresh fruit and vegetables.

Q: What are some of the favorite things there, I will probably do?
A: Sip slowly the morning coffee, without rushing. Sit quietly watching and listening to all the birds. Hopefully you will have that breath taking moment when the dolphins come feed inside the canal. And it is breathtaking! Sometimes right near your dock. You will often see fish jumping in the canal. Maybe it will be your lunch.
Q: What is so special about this home and it's location?
A: It is home away from home. Furnished nicely and completely. Surrounded by water, Pine Island is a mecca for the serious fisherman. World class Tarpon tournaments are held in Charlotte Harbor at the end of the island. There is great fishing anywhere on the island.
Q: Where is Pine Island from the airport?
A: From RSW (Ft Myers International airport) Just follow signs to Interstate Freeway 75 North, exit Pine Island Road, go West toward Pine Island, past city of Cape Coral, past Matlache to the 4-way stop, (Stringfellow Road)turn left drive 7 miles (past the Hardware store on left) next right is York Road. Home is on the right on York Road. Fabulous water location on the island!
