Area Information

COSTA RICA is a very magical and special place. Nowhere else in the world is there such and abundance and variety of flora and fauna. There are sloths, monkeys, 850 types of birds, anteaters, and through the foresight of the Nation's leaders 25% of the land has been set aside for protected areas and National Parks. The Ticos and Ticas are welcoming to all visitors and some of the best surfing and outdoor activities in the world are available here. Costa Rica is home to one of the world's oldest democracies and many foreigners plan their weddings here.

THINGS TO KNOW Woodbox is the ideal location to experience Costa Rica. The home is located in a small village and is just far enough away from everything, but close enough to get there in 30-40 minutes. There is a small supermarket, the Junquillal Super, located 1.5 kilometers away and the Iguanazul is just across the road for a quick bite to eat or to spend an evening with friends. At Woodbox we can take care of all your needs, including tours, trips, private chefs, rental car delivery, massages at the home, and destination weddings. Don't forget that we have bicycles, surf boards, boogie boards, and snorkeling gear available on a complimentary basis during your stay at Woodbox.
