Located on a beautiful private 1.5 acre palm covered lot with 300 feet of private beachfront, it commands stunning views of the ocean both from the large patio and top floor bedroom. Only a 30 minutes boat ride from the picturesque port town of Golfito, this deluxe beach house with full kitchen offers a special vacation for you and your family.

The Resting Dragon is situated in Zancudo, on the Pacific coast of the southern tip of Costa Rica.

Zancudo is a small community of 300 Costa Ricans, and a handful of "laid-back" foreigners. We all flourish on fishing, and a small tourist industry. The area was originally settled by boat builders of the long dug-outs carved from jungle trees, and by pig farmers that found plenty of feed from the bananas that would wash up onto the beach from the old banana company lands up the nearby river.

Now Playa Zancudo offer small beachfront hotels, great restaurants, jungle tours, surfing, safe swimming, and world class sportfishing and fly fishing.

This unique and undeveloped area is located far south, on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. We are about 6 miles by boat from Golfito, and 8 miles by boat from Puerto Jimenez. Most of our guests fly into Golfito, to arrive here in our taxi boat, and others drive in rental cars. The bus is another way to arrive, or even a private taxi right to your cabin door. Many of our guests come here to relax after visiting the Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula, and we pick them up in Puerto Jimenez in our taxi boat. We can help you choose the most comfortable arrival for you trip.

All our guests love this quiet and safe beach and our beachfront accommodation, and often want to extend their visit. Our cabin is right on the beach, facing westerly, with a sunset view over the Osa Peninsula. M

 Incredible Sunsets, March 21, 2009

I had to write a 2nd review because my last one did not give the positives of the cabin itself. It is located on its own private beach with incredible sunsets. The cabin has a little kitchen, a nice porch and a great little bedroom space with another porch. Everything was so peaceful and we even saw a family of monkeys living just across the street.

My husband and I stayed there during the rainy season. The main challange was the area because we did not have a vehicle and many restaurants were closed. Other than that, the house was comfortable and just a few steps to the ocean. Awesome!

This is the perfect little beach house for 2 people. The house is lovely and airy, with lots of light, breezes off the water and the sounds of surf crashing. Our private beach was a few steps away and we saw very few people there. The kitchen is well equipped, and the house is a short walk to other businesses, restaurants, and the grocery store. We loved it.
