Description of the Pocasset vacation cottage rental
Summerwind is a comfortable 2 bedroom Saltwater-view retreat in the charming seaside village of Pocasset. Within the village is Patuisset Island, an unspoiled corner of 'Olde Cape Cod', yet only a short drive from the Bourne Bridge. Ride the tandem bike or take a short stroll to a White Sandy, child safe, saltwater Beach. Tandem KAYAK & Shellfish permit included. The compact kitchen with all appliances, including microwave, serves the water view dining area. New bath with shower upstairs and 1/2 bath on first floor. A sofabed in the living room and a rocking loveseat on the enclosed front porch add a couple more comfy spots for a sea-breeze inspired nap. Fire up the gas grill for a BBQ and enjoy the sunset. This is a lovely,Peaceful, quiet, safe seaside neighborhood where the road ends at the harbor. Enjoy 'the Cape' the old-fashioned unhurried way spring, summer and fall.
Patuisset Island is accessible by car and only 1 Hour from Boston, 45 min. from Prov. RI and 5-10 min from the Bourne Bridge. 5 minute walk past a cranberry bog to a Sandy Saltwater Beach. Fish for stripers and blues from the jetty. Launch your whaler from the Boat Ramp at the road's end or the Public Ramp near the beach. Ride the tandem Bike to one of the sandy salt-water beaches or Beachcomb the island's edge for sand dollars and starfish. Dig for Clams and quahogs. Biking is a pleasure without the traffic of the lower Cape. 15 minute drive to Woods Hole and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard Hop on board a Whale Watching Cruise or Cape Cod Canal tour. Crack a Lobster at the famous Chart Room or Lobster Trap. Golf at nearby 18 hole Brookside Club. Bike, walk or roller blade the 7 mile Cape Cod Canal route or the island circle Use of our tandem Kayak. Kids will have a blast at Adventure Isle with mini-golf, skating, bumper boats and laser tag.
