Description of the Point Loma vacation home rental

“Valemont Vista” Vacation Rental: furnished 3 bedroom 2 bath family home on Point Loma hill with incredible views of Shelter Island, San Diego harbor and downtown lights.
Includes fireplace/washer/dryer/stove/dishwasher/refrigerator/mi crowave,fenced backyard with patio,barbecue,shade trees and a lemon tree. Additional patio on balcony with the view of San Diego.
Smoke-free house.
Wheelchair accessible: (two short steps up front porch; no stairs except to backyard.
Charming retro kitchen counters, stove, cabinets and tiled bathrooms.
Linens, basic bathroom products and kitchen items provided.
New washer, dryer and outside clothes drying lines provided.
Electric heat thermostats provided in each room.
Rental fee for sleeping six but lodging for additional $50 per person available using pull-out bed in living room and sleeping pad from closet in middle bedroom.

Area Information

Within walking distance of the village of Pt. Loma down the hill with its shops, restaurants, San Diego Yacht Club and Shelter Island. Within 10 minute drive of Cabrillo National Monument, Ocean Beach, Mission Beach and Pacific Beach,Sea World, Old Town, the Gas Lamp District, the airport, shopping at Fashion Valley, the world famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park and about 30 minutes to Legoland, Soak City and the Wild Animal Park near Escondido.

A wonderful way to experience San Diego is to walk, bus or bike from the house 3.5 miles to the end of Point Loma with breathtaking views of San Diego bay on one side and the Pacific on the other until you reach the Cabrillo National Monument with its lighthouse, tide pools, nature trails and visitor and whale watching centers. Not to be missed whether you drive out in 10 minutes or spend the day exploring on foot or bike. Also over the hill a few blocks to the west is the beautiful Sunset Cliffs park where you can join others for the satisfying ritual of watching the sun sink into the Pacific.

Awesome View!

This was a great location and the view was spectacular. It is close to Balboa Park, Old Town, Cabrillo National Monument, Harbor Drive--all the great tourist sites in San Diego. The house was clean and comfortable. (The only suggestion is more comfortable mattresses on the twin beds, but we padded them with the extra bedspreads provided.) The house has a view from the kitchen, the living room and the patio. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay here and would go back to this same location on a subsequent visit to San Diego. Lynn very graciously met us at the house as soon as we called her and told her we were in town. The house has everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Gorgeous view, great location

My family, including two 4 year old twin boys had the pleasure of staying for a week here in late July. What struck us immediately was the amazing view of the bay and Coronado. And the location was perfect for us as Sea World, Ocean Beach, and Mission Beach are only a few minutes away and Balboa Park not far either. The house itself could use a little updating for our tastes, but we were so busy during the day that these were insignificant issues compared to the huge upside of the house.

Owner's reply:

Since this review was posted, we have completed significant updating at "Valemont Vista" including the repair and repainting of the entire exterior and part of the interior as well as the installation of a new garage door, washer, dryer and dishwasher.

Nice and comfy

We stayed here with my in-laws in preparation for a family wedding. We had such a nice time and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was over 4th of July weekend and the view of the fireworks over the bay was spectacular. It was close to most everything and the neighborhood is nice to walk in. The house is a little older and it was a bit weird to see family photos of the owners and his family hanging on the wall. The drawers were also filled with their personal items. Kinda felt like I was snooping when i would go to put my things away. Overall though, we had a great time and this was a great place to stay.

Home Sweet Home...

We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to stay in your home while on our vacation in San Diego. The pictures posted do not do justice. The views spectacular, the home comfortable, everything provided, so much more than we could ever asked for. My little one said he wants to go back to "his house in Sand Diego"... and I agree with him. Hope to make this our new family tradition !

Can't say enough about the view - just spectacular - day and night! The bedrooms allow for great separation of space for a family. Deck and backyard provide plenty of room too. So much more comfortable and spacious than a hotel room.
