Description of the Point Pleasant Beach vacation cottage rental
Nostalgic thirties-style cape, which overlooks 50 feet of private beach, appeals to tenants who appreciate ocean views across a dune garden and quiet enjoyment of an uncrowded beach more than amenities and loud parties.
Screened porch and wraparound deck nestled behind the dune, and elevated platform on the dune's crest. Cozy knotted pine living room with gas log for chilly evenings, and attic and ceiling fans to augment the ocean breezes. Outdoor hot water shower and extra "beach bath" with shower in basement. Dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer. Off-street tandem parking for two compact cars or one larger vehicle. Convenient to commuter trains/buses to midtown NYC and Wall Street. A short walk to shopping in Pt. Pleasant Beach or Bay Head, or to the boardwalk amusement area.
Owners, who live year-round in the street house on the same property, prefer less intense use, and will adjust the rent accordingly. The rent for the 2008 season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) would be $25,000 - $32,000. Or you may rent for the entire month of August (including Labor Day Weekend) for $20,000. Rent includes normal gas, electric, and water. VHF/UHF TV antenna and cable installed, but cable and telephone must be direct-billed to tenant. Draft n secure wireless available. Deposit and insurance (most homeowner policies have seasonal rental coverage) required.
Area Description
Quiet neighborhood of mostly owner-occupied homes. The map below is incorrect, showing inland Pt. Pleasant. If you use the arrows to move east (right) to the Atlantic Ocean, you will find Ocean Avenue. Our property is across the street from Lake of the Lillies, just opposite the cul-de-sac shown (Morrison Avenue) between South Baltimore and Elizabeth Avenues.
If you are interested in buying oceanfront property in this area, we have just decided to sell this homestead, where our family has lived for three generations, and move to Kingston, WA. The entire property consists of three separate lots: the Ocean Avenue home in which we live, the oceanfront rental home described in this ad, and the dune/beach lot. You can view them on the aerial photo included above.
