Stretching 1,000 yards long (and up to 150 yards wide), this spectacular beach is a natural playground whether you're into swimming, water sports, sand volleyball, picnics or just catching a few rays. Located nearby is a smaller beach, North Ocean park/Wahoo Bay, which is considered by many to be one of the prettiest beaches on Florida's Gold Coast. This 150-yard long stretch of pristine sand offers wonderful views of the inlet's jetty and the historic Hillsboro lighthouse , considered the brightest lighthouse in the southeast. Built in 1907, this 142-foot tower offers tours and houses an interesting museum for maritime enthusiasts.

Pompano Beach is also a top choice for fishing enthusiasts. Take a stroll onto the 1,000-foot-long fishing pier, open to the public 24/7. I've rented and owned many beach front units. This is one of the best. What I love is the expansive size (3000 sq ft) and the fact that all the furniture is high end, high style genuine Phillipe Starcke pieces, just like the Delano hotel in South Beach.
