Very nice home and very relaxed stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this nicely updated home. Home was very clean. The amenities were nice touches that made us feel right at home. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, and cooking items. Enjoyed the heated pool and an occasional cocktail on the patio while watching the numerous birds and wildlife around the channel. Even caught several large bass and catfish in the channel which we threw back. House was close to churches, shopping and many restaurants. Two miles to the highway which gave us access to the many activities in the area. Gasparilla Island is a must. The house managers were very nice and very helpful. Overall a very nice time. Will strongly consider renting here again.

Good vacation home overall

April 7, 2013

We had some visitors and therefore enjoyed the size and the many rooms of the house. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the supplies for infants. There were lots of dishes and appliances were all working well. The house is very nicely laid out and there were several sliding doors out to the pool and lanai area where we often enjoyed our meals. A very comfortable home. Location was also very good as it was not far from either Sarasota nor Fort Myers. Unfortunately, the pool was far too cold the entire month of March and, when the sun was out, the solar heating system did not seem to be working as the water entering was cool. Finally, the Wifi was always cutting out for no reason and internet service was sporadic. Overall, our vacation was great but the heated pool was the draw and it did not meet our expectations. Perhaps a solar blanket would be helpful. Finally, Elisabeth Billings was wonderful to deal with, very friendly and helpful.

A great Base Camp to explore the Upper Keys

January 4, 2013

This is a trailer park. The price seems high, but it isn't. Anything with the word "Keys" associated with it isn't cheap. The location is little less than perfect as you are ON the water. A 2 minute drive gets you to a shopping center with Hobo's Restaurant and excellent snapper dishes at a reasonable price with top service. Continue a few buildings and there is a Publix, where you can buy food and cook it in your fully equipped kitchen. A few buildings more and you arrive at the local library, with a generous internet policy for visitors. A couple of blocks south is Mrs. Mac's Kitchen, a small hospitable place with an all you can eat daily special. The swimming pool has a spacious deck with 250 chairs overlooking the waterfront you see in the ad. You can launch your own boat directly into the Gulf or fish in the canal. I saw over 200 fish over 2 feet long at a favorable tide one morning. If you walk along the canal to the edge of the property, you can watch at least two playful manatees. The property is gated and the office is staffed on day shift if you need assistance. Islamorada and Tavernier are a very short trip south. Choose the road less traveled (Card Sound Rd.) to go north to Alabama Jacks on the water. There is a $1 bridge toll, but you see few cars on this route. The beds were comfortable. The people in the park were friendly and offered a cheery greeting to passers-by. This unusual type of exploring vacation was one of our best.

We throughly enjoyed our week at this property. The owners were very easy to work with. The home was very clean with lots of room that we really did not need. There was no WiFi but was offered to hook up. The bedroom TV wasn't hooked up, but I figured it out. The pool was great, but by the time it heated up, we were leaving. Giving it 4 stars because the house was shown while we were not there.

It is very central and we were able to visit much of South Western Fl. on day trips. If your are coming to Fl. and looking for an ideal place to stay....This is it.
