Description of the Port Clinton vacation b&b rental

We would like to invite you to be our special guest in our spacious Victorian farmhouse on historic Catawba Island, Port Clinton, OH. Located in the heart of Ohio's Vacationland, SunnySide Tower Bed & Breakfast Inn is situated between Catawba's Miller Ferry Dock and the exclusive Catawba Island Club (CIC); this wonderfully decorated bed and breakfast lies at the door steop to the world-famous Lake Erie Islands. This award-winning Inn was voted as 'The Best of Ohio' by the Ohio Magazine.

At SunnySide, we offer many amenities to help make your stay as memorable and as pleasant as possible. We feature five (5) comfortable sleeping rooms with three of these consisting of multiple bedroom suites. All suites have private bathrooms.

Since there is no such thing as too many bathrooms, we have two "extra" full bathrooms on the second floor for use by whole house renters. We also provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in every bathroom.

Our "common areas" are so spacious including a screen porch, dining area, and Grand Parlor. We have quiet areas available for those who would like to get away for a cup of coffee and good book, plus our huge Grand Parlor is the perfect place for larger gatherings around a roaring fire.

Our grounds are quite spacious as well. With nearly 2 acres of gardens, horse shoe courts, bon-fire pit, patio, and stage area. There is plenty of room for a lawn games. In addition, we have 17 acres of hiking trails with an amazing number of bird species who call our woods home, inlcuding a pair of bald eagles!

We also have full use of Heigel Park, which is directly adjacent to our property. The park includes 2 tennis courts, basketball court, a large covered pavilion with grills and 2 playgrounds. Soccer fields and sledding hill complete the complex.

Sunnyside Tower B&B Inn is the perfect setting for family reunions, class reunions, church retreat, or any special event celebrated with family and friends!

Area Information

Catawba Island is literally the "Gateway to Ohio's Playground". We are the stepping off point to Lake Erie's Islands. We are less than 1/2 mile from Miller's Ferry to the famous Put-In-Bay Island (South Bass Island). This Island is a playground for families during the day, and for adults at night!

Port Clinton & Marblehead are both with-in a 10-15minute drive, and Jet Express offers ferries to Kelly's Island from these convenient ports. Cedar Point (the world's largest Roller Coaster Theme Park), Kalahari Resort (indoor water park), and many, many other fantastic attractions are all within 25-30minutes of our door.

If you are a bird watcher or wild-life enthusiast, we have many preserves and aviars within a very short distance! The fishing in our area can not be beat! We are famous for our Walleye Festival and for the mouth-watering perch that are pulled from our waters!

The Lake Erie Shores and Islands area has so much to offer, especially during the warm weather months.

We are less than 1/2mile from the Miller's Ferry to Put-in-Bay Island. 10-15minutes from Jet Express Ferry to Kelley's Island, Put-in-Bay & Sandusky. Fantastic local live entertainment within just a few minutes of our home. Our home offers peace & tranquility within minutes of all the hot spots of activities!

Sunny Sde B&B

B&B was very nice. Caretakers were very helpful however, I was surprised the B&B had different rules than I am accustomed to with rentals. We had to strip the beds, empty trash, clean and mop the kitchen (which we used) and take the recycles to a redemption point, among other things. In others rentals from Vacation Home rentals, we did none of the above. We packed and left. Not a fun way to leave a vacation.

We visited Sunnyside in October 2009 with another couple and had a wonderful weekend.manager'swere such gracious, easy-going, knowledgable, accomodating hosts and did not mind one bit when we basically took over their home. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, and breakfast was superb every morning. We cannot wait to go back someday soon!

Our stay at Sunnyside was fabulous! The history of the home is captivating and the world wide treasures that fill the house are fascinating. I could have spent every second of my stay just in the house investigating every nook and cranny of what it has to offer. Each room, each wall decoration, every single thing has a story attached to it. The new owners are the best! Paying particular attention to the needs of their guests they went above and beyond to make our stay more than we expected. Our breakfast was delicious and we were even entertained by a little guitar music courtesy of another guest in the house. Our children loved our stay at Sunnyside just as much as we did. We'll definitely be back!!
