This is a very friendly place with two very nice people who live above the appartment. The place is well equiped. The beach is only 300 feet away. From this place you can start very nice daytrips (walks, Brandon Zoo ect).

We had a great time in a part of OR we have wanted to spend time. Roger and Judy are wonderful hosts! The views from our part of the house were inspiring! We will be back!

Our family had a lovely time gathering in Port Orford at the Vagabond House for my parents' 60th anniversary. The house is clean, comfortable, well equipped, and cozy in every way. Roger and Judy are fabulous hosts! Port Orford is an undiscovered gem...a sweet, down-home artist community with beautiful woods and beaches. On the Oregon coast you could not do better than the Vagabond House for accessibility, affordability, and just plain fun!

We rented the Vagabond House for 4 months, Dec. thru March and couldn't have been more at home or happier. We were able to use it as a base and look around at property up and down the beautiful Oregon Coast. Roger and Judy were just delightful and as helpful as could be, from mail delivery to trash removal. We had company a couple of times and the three bedroom/three bathroom worked out perfectly. We would certainly recommend it to anyone, for a week end or a week or a month. C & J Stan, Boothbay Harbor, Maine

The Vagabond House is settled nicely on the hillside with a fantastic balcony view of the ocean. The area is quiet and peaceful. The owners are friendly and more than accomodating! Port Orford is a small town with a nice public beach and some fun little restaurants, but we mostly enjoyed touring the coast and used the Vagabond House mainly as our base camp. It was a fabulous place to relax each evening and each morning. It was stocked with everything we needed and more. Great experience, highly recommend the place.

The Vagabond house was clean and spacious and provided a breathtaking view of the ocean. The individual bathrooms in each bedroom was an added bonus. The home had everything we thought we needed (washer, dryer, iron, fully stocked kitchen, TV, comfortable beds) and many things we would not have thought of. The hosts were very gracious and friendly, though we hardly saw or heard from them. Roger helped us unload our van when we arrived late and tired, which was definitely unexpected, but 5 star service! We saw deer every day and despite the small town of Port Orford, we found plenty to do in our 3 day stay. It was very windy, but sunny and quiet. There is a reasonable grocery store for any provisions you may need, which was appreciated after we went up the coast further and they were very hard to find in other towns along the coast. There are several places to eat and a few historic points to find. Check out the lighthouse, the Hughes House, and the Heads where they have an old Coast Guard station and some scenic trails to hike. There is also a little south of the town a dinosaur park to roam through. Don't forget to look for starfish in the rocks at low tide. That was definitely our kids' highlight. We had a pleasant stay and would love to go back again.

Each year the children and I visit great grandma in Port Orford. This year we brought along some friends and rented the Vagabond House. This home was perfect for our needs. Each bedroom having its own bath was such a bonus for the 7 of us. The view and the short walk to the beach was lovely. Roger and Judy are very welcoming and are willing to accomidate any additional needs. Everything is thought of and conveniently placed for the visitor's use. Thank you for sharing your home.

Our recent stay at the Vagabond House was just wonderful. There were 6 women and having 3 bedrooms and 3 baths made the stay great. The proprietors (Judy & Roger) were the sweetest people and their place was just like staying at home. All their extra special touches were very much appreciated and made our stay so comfortable. It was clean and homey feeling. I would highly recommend staying at this place to all my family and friends. Thanks to Judy and Roger for making our stay great. We all had a great time!!

From the moment we arrived at the Vagabond House, we were made to feel at home. Roger and Judy were outstanding! The space itself was beautiful! We felt it was an incredible value! Fully stocked kitchen, big screen television, very nicely decorated. We were in HEAVEN! Even with the owners upstairs we were provided with ample privacy. It's VERY close to the beach, we could literally hear the waves as we relaxed on the patio in the evenings! There is not enough room here to say all that we liked, we are very, very pleased and plan on a return trip as soon as possible. This truly, is the best kept secret on the coast! GO! By all means! Our hosts really made it all worthwhile, wonderful people! It's a long drive from Idaho, but we WILL be back! FIVE STAR rating for sure! Our only complaint, we had to LEAVE after only five days, next time we will spend our whole vacation there.

We found this property on-line. It is always a little difficult to know how nice a place without actually seeing it in person. This is a gem. The owners were wonderful and have anticipated a lot of details. We had plenty of room to accommodate my wife and me, our two boys, and my parents, with room to spare. All the amenities of home. View is beautiful. Beach is great (just a short walk down the hill), and climbing Battle Rock was fun. Vagabond House is also within walking distance of a small lunch and dinner diner. Compared to other vacation rentals this is truly a great value and a very comfortable place to stay.

I stayed at Vagabond house with three friends, and we had the perfect girls' getaway! Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom, and was just the right size for us! The rental has a completely separate entrance from the upper part of the house, but the owners are a delight, as well! Quiet, but friendly and hospitable! The house has a stunning view of the beach/ocean, and is just a short walk away from Battle Rock Beach. Check out the Myrtlewood gift shop while you're in town and have dinner at Port and Starboard (best clam chowder ever!). My friends and I will definitely be back. It was an absolute delight!

On our recent leisurely drive along the Oregon coast, we stopped at the Port Orford Visitor Center to inquire about lodging in the area. After seeing Vagabond House and talking with the owners, we knew immediately "this is the place." We were pleasantly surprised with the various attractions in and nearby Port Orford, so much so, we extended our "unplanned" stop to two nights. This property offers qualities not often found in your standard motel. The friendliness of the owners and beauty of the surroundings made our visit a relaxing and unique experience. The nearby seafood restaurant “on the dock,” was an added bonus. Travelers will be challenged to match this property anywhere on the coast for the charm and price. We highly recommend it!
