Description of the Port St Joe vacation home rental
'Get Your Bathing Suit On' is a custom-built, Key West-style beach home that has RELAX written all over it! This first-tier home is less than 100 steps to the beautiful, white, sandy beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The gorgeous Gulf beach views can be appreciated from the living room, dining room, the loft, the porch, the deck and the kitchen of our home. With its 3 separate sleeping areas, with a total of four baths, screened porch and sundeck, our whimsically-decorated home can easily accommodate a family or small group... but is still small enough for couples on a romantic getaway!!

We also try to simplify what you need to pack by providing all your linens, including beach towels, as well as a starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper, bath soap, and detergents.

For your convenience, we have two beach cruiser bikes, a car bike rack, a tandem kayak and a kayak cart. Our amenity program which runs from March through October entitles you to free passes to Golf, Deep Sea Fishing and Horseback Riding. We also maintain a supply of beach chairs, two beach umbrellas, a large cooler, kids fishing poles, snorkeling masks, sand mats, rafts, crab nets, crab bucket and a crab trap, boogie boards, wave boards, noodles, shovels, pails, large outdoor grill, grilling utensils, tennis rackets and beach toys! In additions to all this we also have made arrangements that allow you to check out the latest DVDs at our property manager's DVD kiosk. If you decide to stay indoors for a while we also have a cupboard full of board games and puzzles to keep you entertained.

There is plenty do do but if you decide to just relax, you will have a fantastic time enjoying the sweeping Gulf views and spectacular sunsets from the living room, kitchen, dining room, loft, sun deck and screened porch and if you decide to stroll along our quiet and award winning beaches, you can find a variety of seashells to collect, watch the dolphins swimming by, see the mullet jumping in the bayou or catch the eagles and osprey scouting for prey.

Of course, swimming, sunbathing, fishing in the surf or crabbing in the bayou are always a lot of fun.

Our area outfitters also rent bikes, canoes, paddle boards, snorkeling equipment and kayaks and can deliver them to our home if you ask them too!

Our neighborhood is extremely quiet and friendly, with no thru traffic - a great place for families with children, or for anyone who just wants to get away from it all!

Money Bayou is just a short walk down the beach where you can catch blue crabs, throw your cast net or put in your kayak to explore the winding waterway. Scalloping in nearby St. Joe Bay is also a lot of fun during the summer scallop season. These sweet, tender delicacies are a favorite for dinner or can be frozen to be enjoyed later when you return home. In addition, nearby Indian Pass is famous for its delicious oysters!

The amenity program gives allows one adult in your party per day to golf at the St. Joseph's Peninsula Country Club, deep sea fish aboard the Fish'n Xpress and horseback ride at Rockin' M Ranch's. This pass also allows you to check out free DVD rentals daily. You are entitled to one pass to each of the activities every day of your rental.

Once you reserve, our property management office can help you with reserving your tee times, fishing excursions, riding sessions and can also give you information on where to pick up the free DVDs.

Great Vacation House

July 29, 2013

My family and I stayed at this house July 13-20, 2013. We loved it! It may have been that we were on vacation or the lure of the beach but my 6yr old daughter wanted to live there and not come home, and neither did I! The house looks just like the pictures with the exception of a few minor changes; decorations, ect. It seemed closer to the beach than the pics portrayed but I never counted the steps, lol. It has a keypad entry and that was nice not having to carry a key around. One review spoke of the spiral staircase leading to the loft as being small for large people. Although it was narrower than the other two, I just adapted a slight side step approach to the stairs and my 6', 250lb self navigated it just fine. The kitchen had just about everything you would need to cook meals. Including a set of purple pots and pans just like my wife has at home. I really enjoyed the garage as it gave me a place to stage my cart and all my outdoor gear. Plan on relying on WiFi as your cellphone probably will not have signal. The area was quiet. The neighboring guests were quiet, although your stay may vary. We found a place that was good for getting supplies for your stay. , "MarketPlace" dollar store, if I got the name right. It is located right next to the bridge going in or out of Port St. Joe. Prices were really good and they have a little bit of everything, like a mini Walmart. With all the rain, the water at the beach was brown and dingy. I found out from a lady that worked a cleaning service that if you go out to the Cape, north of the sea wall, the water would be clear. I wish I would have known this at the start of the vacation instead of the day I was leaving. But we had a great time nonetheless, and we hope to be back next year.

Absolutely Wonderful!

June 5, 2012

I would recommend this awesome beach house to any one! Beautifully decorated, and an awesome area! The pictures do not give justice to just how great this home really is! Everything we needed, clean, and even sand toys! Beautiful private beaches, no crowds, friendly people, and tons of amenities! Pet friendly! Everything was wonderful until check out time, when the young man who was to clean the place showed up a half an hour early, and literally stalked us until we rushed out! He even had the property company call us to ask when were leaving! We said it would be be fifteenthtdp or so, as it was 10:45, and check out is at eleven, And the man drove in circles around the property, staring at us until we left! Besides that one incident, it was an awesome stay! We are planning on making this a yearly family get together, as long as we can be left in peace until the actual checkout! But truly a great place, great price, and can't wait to go back next summer!

Bathing Suit

November 29, 2011

Could not have had a much better experience. Home was clean and well furnished with amenities-We couldn't use them all-Perhaps a little small for larger family, but was perfect for couple and our dog-Screened in porch was a terrific place to gather -Upper balcony was awsome as the stars came out at night- Interior spiral stairs were a tight fit for a bigger body-Location plenty close enough to the beach-Every one we met was friendly-the support staff went the extra mile to help return some items we left behind- Looking forward to going back next year!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the most fun things to do at your vacation rental?)
A: Swimming in the gulf, crabbing, kayaking, fishing, bike riding, shelling, bird watching, dolphin watching, scalloping, golfing, horseback riding.
Q: What makes your vacation rental special?)
A: The Forgotten Coast is Florida like you have never experienced it. White sand dune beaches, natural sightings of dolphins, turtles and birds, no high rise condos, friendly neigbors, quiet sunsets and the kind of relaxed, laid back vacation that will keep you coming back year after year.
Q: What's the coolest nearby activity?
A: The Indian Pass Raw Bar is an oyster bar that was opened in the 1930s and that still retains the "Old Florida" sensability of 'serve yourself' soda and beer, rocking chairs on the front porch, shared dining tables, and all the gossip you care to hear.
