Description of the Port Townsend vacation home rental

A peaceful, romantic getaway in a wooded wonderland complete with grazing llamas, a birder's paradise. Secluded and quiet in a rustic setting with no other houses in sight but only 5 miles to historic downtown Port Townsend. Surrounded by forest with many dog friendly walking trails and views of wildlife.

This 1100 sq. ft. lodge has an open floorplan with 17' ceilings and many windows to enjoy the outside. The fully equipped kitchen is a gormet cooks delight with views to the pond and bird feeding station. The shady porch is a perfect place to relax on a sunny afternoon with a good book. Several decks are placed in areas to enjoy the pond, hot tub and flower garden.

Area Information

The lodge is 10 minutes from Port Townsend, one of the three historic seaports in the U.S. Port Townsend is the headquarters of CENTRUM, offering the annual Festivals of Jazz, Fiddle tunes, and Blues, with writer conferences, resident art programs, etc. The area is located in the "rain shadow" of the Olympic Mountains, averaging only 17" of rain per year. We are within a one hour drive of many fantastic hiking trails in Olympic National Park. The Victorian era downtown district offers many unique shopping opportunities including the Northwest Maritime Center, home of the Wooden Boat Festival.

Excellent place to stay!

We, my friend Colleen and my two dogs Jovi and Jaimi had a fabulous stay at Llama Lodge! The dog loved exploring the grounds and playing with the llama's. Colleen and I lounged around outside, prepared all our meals in an awesome kitchen and fed the gentle llamas bananas, lettuce and brocolli. What a wonderful place to relax ... it's so peaceful. The location is great, close to all the state parks and there are tons of them The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owner, Tom, is super friendly and very kind. My friend forgot her slippers and Tom mailed them back to her! Would highly reccomend this place to anyone thinking of staying in Port Townsend. Peaceful haven

We were greeted by the wonderful owners who introduced us to their 3 llamas. My 2 yr old granddaughter enjoyed feeding the llamas each day, along with filling the bird feeders, watching the squirrels and bunnies and little green frog. We enjoyed meals, while sitting next to the soothing sounds of the waterfall. This is one of the most comfortable, quiet, and relaxing places to stay. It is close to town yet out in the forest. There is no traffic noise or street lights yet you can enjoy television or the internet if you so desire. it is child and senor friendly. The kitchen is well stocked, the washer and dryer are very handy - we hated to leave.

My wife, Shea and I stayed at Tom Stammer's wonderful home for 3 months several years ago. We fed the birds and the llamas, enjoyed the hot tub and did a lot of running and hiking in the woods. We took leisurely bike trips on the Larry Scott trail into charming uptown and downtown Port Townsend. Tom's place is fully equipped and extremely comfortable and user-friendly. We have been married for 33 years and this was our most enjoyable period of care-free, nature-enjoying living. Tom's place was ideal for us and Port Townsend is a unique community with many facets and activities.

Quiet retreat

This is a lovely home in a beautiful private setting. It was very clean and stocked with all the amenities of home. The woodwork and decor gave it a relaxing personality. Outside pond and birdbaths attract many birds. It was relaxing to walk through the woods accompanied by llamas. There was plenty of out door sitting. Port Townsend was close by with access to unique stores and then there was Fort Warden on the Juan de Fuca straights. Couldn't get it all in! Can't wait to return.

Fabulous Weekend Getaway!

I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend at Folklore Llama lodge with friends in November, 2010. The home and furnishings are spotless, in excellent condition and very comfortable with beautiful woodwork everywhere. It's ideal for curling up with a book or just sitting around visiting. We enjoyed the roomy well-appointed kitchen---great for preparing a full meal or just "happy hour" fare. Lounging outside in the hot tub was the perfect thing to do at the end of the day! The property was perfect for "decompressing" and getting away from it all. I really enjoyed the wonderful llamas, who were happy to let us feed them apples. We made a trip into Port Townsend for the day and enjoyed the beach, farmers' market, eating out and wonderful shopping. It was difficult to leave at the end of the weekend. I really wish we would have had a couple more days there!
