Description of the Powder Mountain vacation cabin rental

Welcome to our hand crafted log home at Powder Mountain Resort. Enjoy sweeping views of the ski trails and mountains from our nicely appointed ski in, ski out home. Powder Mountain averages 500 inches of pure Utah powder snow a year in an uncrowded friendly atmosphere. Terrain ranges from chow and plow deep powder back country to finely groomed corduroy for beginners to advanced. Night skiing and two terrain parks round out the experience. A Hot Tub is on the deck for soaking those aching muscles =. Our home is located in the middle of Powder Mountain Resort on a county maintained and plowed road. You can drive up into the 2 car garage and hit the slopes in no time. Everything is designed for comfort and convenience, from the boot dryer in the laundry room to the fully equipped kitchen. Area Information

We are located in the Powder Mountain Resort near Eden, Ut., about one hour and 15 minutes from the Salt Lake City Airport. There are 5500 skiable acres on the mountain. Twenty minutes across the Upper Ogden Valley is Snow Basin, home of the 2002 Olympic mens downhill. It is an hour and 15 minutes to Park City. The Pineview reservoir is at the bottom of the mountain and is a beautiful summer recreation area.

Log Home

Some initial confusion about contact info at the outset which was satisfactorily resolved without interference with our skiing, but more attention needs to be paid to providing accurate contact info. The house itself is great!! Although it is billed as ski-in, ski-out to get to lifts and to return on skis is a bit challenging. However, the shuttle bus will stop in front of the house to pick up and drop off and if you have a vehicle it is a very short drive to either parking lot. We had 30" of snow during our week and felt like we were in powder heaven. Dave, the contact person at the ski shop, was amazing and more than willing to help if we needed it.

Owner's reply:

Dave is an amazing mountain host and we apologize for the confusion at the onset. I have now made sure that all 3 forms of information sent out to guests are consistent, and as a follow up personally contact our guests a couple of days before their arrival to make sure they have made proper arrangements to meet Dave. Our home is situated in between the 2 ski lifts, one which requires our guests to take the shuttle 1/10 of a mile to the lift or walk it. The ski in ski out to the house to and from the 2nd lift does depend on the snow and a persons skill level. These things are explained to guests when I speak with them prior to their renting our home. As a groomer I explain that I cannot ski to or from my home, but our children and many of our guests have blazed trails to our home. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and that you got some of the most amazing snow of the season. You may even become Pow Mow Groupies like many who have stayed in our home.

Log Heaven

I am in. I'm hooked. I have fallen for Powder Mountain and now I can't wait to get back there. I can't imagine a better home base than Log Heaven or a better view to have during your time there. One of our best runs was skiing from Lightning Ridge, directly to the front door. At 10:00 AM on a powder day, a lift attendant apologized for checking our tickets since he hadn't memorized everyone's faces for the day. After dropping us at Log Heaven, the driver of the Powder Country shuttle asked us to promise we would be back. We promise. And we're staying at Log Heaven if we can.

Evan, thank you for the raving review. We love our log home at Pow Mow for the exact reasons you mentioned. Everyone is so friendly. After being there for 9 years we consider many of the resort employees like family. My family has done the lightning ridge to the house run, but I on the other hand am not that good of a skier, so will never know the thrill. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, and absolutely loved having you as guests in our home. You personally have been a pleasure to work with and I look forward to having you, your friends and family back again next year. We will know consider you an official Pow Mow Groupie. :)

Hi Donna
Can't say enough good things about your place and Dave, he is very kind. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we have the goggle tans to prove it! After the 30" of snow that fell Wed/Th/Fri we showed up Sat morning with a TON of fresh powder off of Sunrise T-bar, which of course we were able to dig up well into Monday. Just to be clear I had some of the best, most endlessly deep powder turns I have ever taken, and I live in CO year round!

I will be in touch for next years trip as we are already talking about it. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!
