Westin Kuaii at Princeville and others
While availability changes constantly – as of Sunday March 1st:
* A deluxe suite with partial kitchen was available at the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort – May 14 – 21. This is a beautiful place.
* A one bedroom suite was available at the Cliffs Club in Princeville - March 15-22.
* A one bedroom suite was available at the Ke Nani Kai in Molakai – March 14 – 21.
I am not in the resort business. I simply own several useshares and when I don’t have time to use them all myself I rent extra weeks. I deposit them into Intervals International which is a useshare trading system which gives me access to resorts throughout the US and the world. I generally pay an annual maintenance fee which gives me one week of use for about $600 +/- $50 and an Interval International trading fee of about $150 which includes guest pass.
My goal is to cover all or most of my costs. If I have a week about to expire I of course am more flexible and if I still have time I try to stick closer to covering it. My target therefore is about $100 - $125and change per night so $700 _850 per week. Generally as soon as I can find a match with a property and date someone wants and they commits in that range I will confirm them right away. Otherwise I will take a bid and get back to them later if unable to get a better offer. I have one week expiring in about a month so may be a bit more flexible - I will take first bid over $700 immediately, and if not rented perhaps as low as $450 for the week.
Since Interval operates on a week basis, if you desire less than a week, it means I have extra days left over to try to rent, which is often problematic to find someone who wants that exact resort for those exact dates. However, in many cases and depending on the specifics, to rent something comparable you would typically pay $200 per night plus taxes so even if you did not use the whole week you may well still find it a good value.
