During the winter season (october-april ) Progreso-Chicxulub is a very calm beach town, in ¨Villas del Mar¨ there are only three or four renters mainly Canadian couples retired.

Villas del Mar is closer to Chicxulub, its only 8 blocks. In Chicxulub Downtown you can find, drugstore, doctor, market, fresh fruit and veggie market, bakery, licor sotre, church, park, small hardware stores, laundry.

You can take the bus ($5 pesos), it stops right in Villas del Mar, or you can walk 8 blocks east to Chicxulub Downtown there you will find taxis and buses any time of the day untill 10:30pm. From Villas del Mar to Progreso Downtown Its only 10min. Bus drops you in Progreso Downtown where the Shuttles depart to Merida every 15 minutes ($15 mx), the shuttle is air conditioned, it only stops one or two times, you can get off anytime between Progreso Downtown and Merida Downtown in any shooping place for example: Gran Plaza Mall, Altabrisa, WalMart, Paseo Montejo, Tourist Strip etc. From Progreso to Merida its only 25min.
