Description of the Puerto Morelos vacation condo rental
Our condo is privately owned and maintained in pristine condition. The grounds are spotless and feature a large freshwater pool. You are only steps to our lovely beach and the warm Caribbean Sea. The complex is on the beach and the area is kept raked and clean. Our condo is fully furnished with full kitchen w/granite, stove w/full oven, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and cable TV. Our bedding can accommodate four persons. We provide the first 5 gallon bottled water. Snorkeling can be done from our beach, or you can go with one of the local dive operators.
Area Description
Puerto Morelos is becoming the scuba alternative to Cozumel. You can arrange for sport fishing trips in town - or you can arrange scuba diving or windsurfing, or just relax on our beach. Several very nice restaurants, gift shops, dive and snorkeling shops, grocery store and pharmacy are in town -- only a few blocks' walk from the complex.

Villas Playasol is located in the small fishing village of Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico situated right on the Caribbean sea. Puerto Morelos' beaches are protected by the second largest barrier reef in the world - offering excellent snorkeling and scuba diving. The village is 2 KM from the main Highway 307 that runs from Cancun to Chetumal. Puerto Morelos is approximately half way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen - or 20 miles from either location. This allows easy access to all of the night life and other attractions of these towns and easy travel to famed Maya ruins through out the Yucatan. Villas Playasol is an excellent choice for a quality family vacation without the hassle and boom boom boom of the large tourist centers.

Puerto Morelos (PM) is such a great spot for those of you who wish to avoid the crowds of Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, and Cozumel. This is no concrete, mega-hotel, boring, standard vacation spot. The condos at Playasol are really quite nice. Very practical and accessible to the town square--just stroll up the beach barefoot for 5 minutes and you arrive in town where there are many good restaurants, an ATM, cambia, fresh fish market, church, and several nice places to hang out and drink margaritas or people watch.
The condo itself is very well maintained. Everything you need is there to make you feel at home--fully equipped kitchen for cooking up your fresh fish or ceviche, two bathrooms, comfortable beds and sheets, washer & dryer combo, wireless internet (though who needs that when you have the most beautiful beach just a few steps away??) and easy access to the very nice pool area.We had two children-aged 14 and 2 with us, and they felt at home and comfortable in the condo. The neighbors and caretakers are extremely friendly and polite.
This location serves as a perfect jumping off point for any number of trips to see Cenotes, Mayan ruins, more beaches, caves, and outdoor adventures. Most sights are about 30 minutes to 90 minutes away. Make sure to check out the scenic and amazing Cenote Highway and Tulum.
PM is really a unique and special place. We were just blown away by the beauty of the location, and our stay was just so wonderful at Playasol, we will be back! We have already discussed setting up a vacation savings account to begin saving for our next trip to PM. We really want to go back very soon. I agree with the previous poster who said they were sad to leave, as were we. But we know that we have found a truly special place that will forever be in our fondest of memories. We loved it and so did our kids. The owner Ron is real gentleman, and very helpful. We cannot imagine a better experience.
Cantina Habanero, Las Pelicanos, and Rosy's Juice Bar were all great spots. The Pollo Adobo BBQ carry out was great too (only two blocks from Playasol, follow the sign on the corner) and very affordable. We got a great deal on several beautiful, handmade hammocks and other souvenirs at the Artisanal Marketplace on the other side of the square. The townspeople were friendly and accommodating. Definitely travel to the Colonia (the other side of PM) for authentic tacos and other foods as well as better priced vegetables, fruits, and meats.

This was our best vacation yet. We stayed at Playasol for 10 days and what a wonderful 10 days they were.
We had a car but you really don't need one as the wonderful little town of Puerto Morelos is only a 5 minute walk down the beach or down the street. The town is very safe and is a really cute community. There are lots of great restaurants at all price ranges and the people are very helpful and friendly.
Since there is a kitchen in the condo I highly recommend going down to the town pier in the afternoon and buying fresh fish from the fishermen - they will fillet them for you and it is a real deal to say the least.
The snorkeling is fabulous out in front of the beach or take a tour out to the reef it is worth every penny and also very reasonable.
Xel Hal is an hour or more drive toward Tulum and again very worth the day out. Great snorkeling, tubing and food - a full day worth of fun.
The condo is great - two big bedrooms - 1 and 1/2 bathrooms - living area and kitchen - all very clean and well stocked. Great property with the pool and beautiful grounds that are well maintained and quiet with the a great beach right out front.
The manager, Cece, was great and very helpful and so were the rest of the staff working around the property - very friendly.
We hated to leave - the weather was great - relaxed alot - wireless internet in case you want to write home and brag to family or send pictures.
We will definitely be back again - a great spot and location - way better than the all inclusive packages and alot quieter. Not for those looking for a wild spring break.
Great restaurants were Le Picata, Boda's, John Gray's Kitchen, David Luau, Spagatino's and the great bar behind after 7:30 Giaconda - music on the week-ends. Look for the kitchen lady down the road or the tortilla factory - just great.
Shopping for groceries go to WalMart in either Playa Del Carmen or Cancun for a great variety of everything or for you smaller needs yet very stocked go to Martin's in town.

We were extremely pleased with the vacation property. The unit was well furnished and clean, with all the necessities for a wonderful vacation. Restraunts in the area were good. The beach was very nice and the pool in the complex was very clean. We would recommend this unit to our friends, however, if the parties wishing to stay in Pueorto Moreles are young and wish night life, they would have to drive to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen. At our age, we were not looking for night life and totally enjoyed our stay.
