Your Mexican adventure begins once you turn off Hwy 307 and head down two kilometers to a quaint fishing village called Puerto Morelos.
The Mermaid Beach House is a large family home, located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen and only 20 minutes from the airport.

Sit by our tropical paradise pool and enjoy our Mermaid Beach House that accommodates from two to twelve persons with no one else but you. Enjoy our large air conditioned bedrooms. Each bedroom has cable TV,A/C refrigerator, ceiling fans, a private bath, and garden and ocean views. The living room has cable TV, VCR, and DVD player. You will love the constant ocean breeze from the large patio on the second level with hammocks and rocking chairs for your use and a magnificent view of the ocean.

We have a gourmet kitchen for your use, equipped with every pan, pot, dishwasher, microwave, blender, four-slice toaster, juicer, ice cream maker, and all the extras. There is a lovely garden with patio tables.

Upstairs there is a dining table seats 12 with comfort. Hammocks (4)rocking chair and other comfy seating with the most enjoyable view, sunrise os the best.
The entire property is fenced and gated. We provide all linens and towels of the best cotton quality including beach towels, you will find the beach towles upstairs on a trunk at the top of the stairs. Maid service is included three times per week. Please remember to leave a tip, per day is a nice extra for the maid. If you would like to have your sheets change durring the week you must ask for this service, see Jim or simply pull your sheets off the bed so that Maria will know to wash them. All the towles are in all the bathrooms, place the soiled one on the floor, Maria will peplace them with clean towels. Please help to conserve water. We also have an english speeking manager named Jim, he is available evryday. He is very helpful, please tell him any problems or concerns you may have.

We will arrange airport pick-up, snorkeling, fishing, and dive trips if you ask.

Puerto Morelos has been designated National Reef Park because of it's efforts to preserve the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere and the second largest in the world. Jacques Cousteau referred to this stretch of the Caribbean as having 'Gin Clear Water'. This world famous reef is just 500 meters from shore. You can walk to the nearby restaurants, central plaza, pharmacy, and grocery store. We are 4 blocks from the main square.

Area Description

There are miles of powder white sand beaches for walking and beachcombing, day or night, directly across the street with no houses between us and the sea. Also in town is the Auto Ferry Terminal to the fun-filled and largest island in Mexico, Cozumel. The Crococoon Zoo and famous Botanical Gardens are merely a ten-minute taxi drive from the Mermaid. The exciting nightlife and shopping in the Cancun Hotel Zone and Playa del Carmen are both about 30 minutes away. Also close by is the large city of Cancun, where you can experience the real Mexico and it's limitless shopping opportunities.

Puerto Morelos is the gateway to the Mayan Riviera where it's possible to satisfy the Indiana Jones in you at many ancient Mayan archeology sites. These Mexican treasures include Chichen Itza, Tulum, El Rey, Coba, Muyil, and Uxmal just to mention a few.

All along the Riviera Maya are the beautiful Cenotes where picnicking, snorkeling, diving, and nature walks are a special and unique experience for the foreign tourist and native Mexican alike. There are also several large Eco Parks which are magical places to learn about local flora, fauna, and ancient and mysterious cultures -- or just plain relax in the tropical climate under a coconut palm with your favorite refreshment in hand.
