Description of the Puerto Morelos vacation home rental

Casa mermaid is a a spacious 2000 square foot home that sleeps 10, with private pool, 4 blocks from the main town square and across the street from the Caribbean Sea.

Casa Mermaid is located on a residential street, Av Javier Rojo Gomez, nestled between other large rental homes in Puerto Morelos. We are 4 blocks from town and walking distance to all restaurants and shops. Just across the street from the beach. Cancun to the North and Playa Del Carmen just south of are two major towns. Cancun International Airport is 20 minutes drive from Casa Mermaid.

Casa Mermaid has four very large bedrooms, each with a private bath, air-conditioning, (A/C in bedrooms only) TV, ceiling fans, lots of windows, and Ocean or Garden View. All bedrooms have American beds with finest cotton linens.

We have a fully-equipped kitchen with gas four-burner stove with oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker. All dishes and utensils, are supplied. We have two water dispensers in the kitchen.

We provide Beach towels they are kept in the trunk upstairs.

There is a good sized 15x30 pool with lounge chairs amidst a tropical setting with a flowing fountain. You will have the entire house to your self. The manager JIM is English speaking, he will be available if you need him.

All floors are Ceramic tile or Mexican Marble throughout the home.

On the main floor there is dinning room, living room, kitchen and two bedrooms with two bathrooms.

On the second level there are two more bedrooms and two bathrooms and a sitting room with a pull out sofa and our huge outdoor patio that has a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Ocean that is just across the street. We have hammocks, rocking chairs, and a table that seats 12 all on our outdoor patio.

This is one of the original homes of Puerto Moreols. It is well maintained and updated.

You will have the entire house to your self. The manager JIM will greet you and be available if you need him. Nora our maid arrives around 9:00 in-case you like to sleep in.

Casa Mermaid, just across the street from the beach with no houses in between, there is a 3 foot wide foot path to access the beach across the street or you can walk to the end of the block in either direction and find the beach access.

car is not necessary. Walk to restaurants, central plaza/park, internet cafes, grocery store, pharmacy, artisan shops and miles of powder soft, white sand beaches just across the street. THE RIVIERA MAYA OFFERS SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO, YOU'LL WANT TO RETURN AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN!

The entire property is fenced and gated. We provide all linens and towels. Maid is available on a daily basis for a small fee.

Puerto Morelos has been designated National Reef Park because of it's efforts to preserve the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere and the second largest in the world. Jacques Cousteau referred to this stretch of the Caribbean as having 'Gin Clear Water'. This world famous reef is just 500 meters from shore. You can walk to the nearby restaurants, central plaza, pharmacy, and grocery store. There are miles of powder white sand beaches for walking and beach combing, day or night, directly across the street.

The Crococoon Zoo and famous Botanical Gardens are merely a ten-minute taxi drive from the Mermaid. The exciting nightlife and shopping in the Cancun Hotel Zone and Playa del Carmen are both about 30 minutes away. Also close by is the large city of Cancun, where you can experience the real Mexico and it's limitless shopping opportunities. Puerto Morelos is the gateway to the Mayan Riviera where it's possible to satisfy the Indiana Jones in you at many ancient Mayan archeology sites. These Mexican treasures include Chichen Itza, Tulum, El Rey, Coba, Muyil, and Uxmal just to mention a few. All along the Riviera Maya are the beautiful Cenotes where picnicking, snorkeling, diving, and nature walks are a special and unique experience for the foreign tourist and native Mexican alike.

There are also several large Eco Parks which are magical places to learn about local flora, fauna, and ancient and mysterious cultures -- or just plain relax in the tropical climate under a coconut palm with your favorite refreshment in hand. There is so much to see, experience, and learn about that you will want to return again and again.
