Description of the Puerto Vallarta vacation home rental

Located along the Rio Cuale, Casa Brava is a new house with touches of old Mexico in the town center, Gringo Gulch, where the first foreigners settled, steps from Liz Taylor's old house, a 5-7 minute walk to the church, plaza, shopping and galleries, a 20 minute walk to Los Muertos Beach. Both the first floor studio apartment and the second floor family style apartment offer secure, tranquil repose with birds, butterflies, iguanas and the sounds of the river to soothe and refresh the spirit.

Both units have high ceilings and ceiling fans, separate entrances and are bright and airy, safe and secure with many flowering plants and art work. The first floor studio has a garden patio, one double bed and one single sofa/bed and sleeps 2. The second floor has one double bed in the master bedroom and 2 single beds in the second bedroom and sleeps four and also has ample large balconies outside the living room and master bedroom for outdoor sitting.

The owner is an artist and has her studio on the third floor.

Area Description

Cuauhtemoc is one of the oldest streets in Puerto Vallarta, Vallarta's the oldest house still stands on this street, Guerrero, and it is at this point that the street name changes to Cuauhtemoc, named after the last Aztec king. It is a quiet street just around the corner from the busy town center, except at fiesta time when music can be heard from across the river, or fireworks from the neighboring colonia. The neighborhood is a wonderful mix of Mexican and foreign people, the burros still go by daily carrying their loads, there is good bird and butterfly watching and iguanas are abundant. There is a market a five minute walk from Casa Brava. The street is safe and well lit and there are no buses on this street. The owner is an artist who built the casa for her studio which is also a gallery on the top floor.
