Description of the Punaluu vacation condo rental

Located on the North Shore of Oahu, our condo is about 30 miles from Waikiki and the Honolulu International Airport and a world away from the crowds. It is close enough to spend the day in town shopping and visiting other tourist attractions and then returning to the beauty and serenity of the area.

The penthouse has been totally renovated with the best of everything. It sits on a private, reef-protected beach. The reef provides a barrior from the popular big waves of the North Shore and also provides a variety of fish and marine life for snorkeling. There complex has a fresh water swimming pool, outdoor shower, exercise room and sauna and a picnic area.

From the living room wrap around lanai on the 8th floor, you have a breathtaking, palm-dotted view of the beach and the ocean. A wall of mirrors in the living room extends the specatuclar view so that it can be appreciated from both the living room and the kitchen.

The kitchen has been designed with the best of everything. It includes stainless steel apliances including a fridge with filtered water and ice, a dishwasher, microwave and a Jenn-Aire range with built in grill. The Stellar Marine Silestone countertops and glossy white cabinents were designed to reflect the colors of your surroundings and bring a bit of the ocean inside.

If you can take your eyes off of the view, the livingroom and kitchen area also has a 27 inch TV with DVD player, VCR and even a media card reader to share the days photos in a big way.

The condo has been designed to offer both children and adults time "away". The two upstairs suites were designed for adults and provide a retreat from the little ones. The downstairs bedroom can be converted to another adult room with a king bed or set aside as the kids room.

The Hibiscus Suite is ocean-side on the 9th floor. It is furnished with a massive plantation style, tropical four poster bed, nightstands, armoire and dresser. There is also a wet bar complete with a sink, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The suite also features a wrap-around lanai with lounger for relaxing and taking in all of the beauty of the ocean and if you are up early enough you will be greeted by nature showing off in the form of a exquisite sunrise.

The Plumaria Suite is also on the 9th floor, mountainside and decorated with a South Seas theme of bamboo and mahogany. It features a Balinese-style king bed and furniture and a separate elevated sleeping area which will sleep two if needed. The Plumaria suite has a mountain-side lanai from which you can view waterfalls coursing there way back to the sea after rainstorms.

Each of the upstairs suites have 27 inch televisions with DVD player, VCR and a media reader. The suites share a large bathroom decorated in bamboo, a tiled shower and Silestone countertops.

Downstairs the kids will be treated to their very own North Shore Surfing bedroom with a painted mural complete with Woody and surfboard beds with grass skirts. The North Shore bedroom can sleep four children with 2 twin beds and a full size futon. Just in case your party is a little larger, the condo also has a sofa sleeper in the living room and a portable crib available on request.

The condo is only five miles from the number one tourist attraction on Oahu - the Polynesian Cultural Center - and a short 15-minute drive to the winter surfing competition at the "Banzai Pipeline" and "Sunset Beach." You are 45-minutes from the night life of Waikiki or snorkeling at Hunauma Bay.

The condo has ceiling fans, cable TV, high speed wireless internet, stereo and lots of books - including many guidebooks to Hawaii. We also provide beach chairs, towels, a beach umbrella, snorkeling equipment, ice chest and other items for your trips to the beach. All you need is your sun screen and swimsuits.

We have spared nothing in making this condo one of the best on the island. If you are looking for outstanding accommodations away from the crowds, where you can bring the kids along, yet be provided with your own special place in paradise, then look no further.

This penthouse is spectacularly beautiful! The outside of the building is not much to look at, but once we got inside, we spent the first hour just wandering around the rooms and exclaiming over how nice everything was. The views from the lanais are incredible. Both in the living room and the master bedroom, you can basically open up the whole wall of sliding glass doors to the wraparound lanais and just be "one" with the ocean. The beach below is perfect for swimming and snorkeling since it is reef protected and calm (but not good for playing in big waves...) The only problem we had was that the internet wasn't working when we got there. By calling the owner and the internet company, we finally got that fixed and could use laptops, but we never could get the internet on the desktop to work so we couldn't print our boarding passes for the trip home. That was fairly minor, though, and everything else was an absolute dream--wish I was back there now!!
