You are renting a top (third) floor two bedroom, two bathroom Adult (55 or older) Condominium in the wonderful old southern town of Punta Gorda, Florida. PLEASE CHECK AVAILABILITY WITH US BY PHONE OR EMAIL! Once accepted by us, and you are approved as renters by our condo association, and we mutually agree upon the terms outlined below, you submit a $650 deposit to hold your time while we get the lease signed between us. This deposit then becomes your damage/cleaning deposit. Your deposit will be refunded at the end of your rental period when the unit is left in the condition you find it.

*MAY through DECEMBER, minimum 3 month rental $1199/ month
* EXTRA MONTHS SPECIAL: Add November, December 2012, or May, June 2013 to a 3 or 4 month in-season rental for $1000 just per month
*AVAILABLE YEAR AROUND - Discounts for longer or yearly rentals. By the way, November and December, May and June are absolutely awesome months in Punta Gorda, so don't over look them in making plans for a get-a-way.
HERE'S THE FUN DETAILS: Our condo provides completely furnished, comfortable, and well appointed accommodations for up to four adults (one of you must be 55 or older) in the West wing of the 2 building Charlevoi Complex. We're on the top floor (elevators handy of course) for best harbor views and natural ventilation. The complex has undergone an $8,000,000 2 year complete restoration and the entire project is virtually new. We have completely redone our unit's interior with bamboo floors, butcher-block counters, Thomasville hickory cabinets throughout, and porcelain and travertine tile showers. We've furnished and decorated this get-a-way in the unpretentious but comfortable, functional, and homey style that we enjoy, and we bet you will too. It's light and airy, with state-of-the-art air conditioning and heat pump for those odd days when Punta Gorda's usually perfect weather gets too hot or too cold. This approximately 1100 sq. ft. home features a washer/dryer, dishwasher, stereo radio/cassette/CD player, LCD TV and DVD player, dining table for 6, an abundance of closets and storage, screened Lanai, a truly beautiful warm 20' X 40' pool, and easy walking to a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Phone, cable TV and high speed internet are available, and we can assist you with contact information to set up the service you prefer during your stay.
The 3rd floor view is due West overlooking the new incredible Charlotte Event Center with it's wide brick paved bay front promenade. From the Lanai you look across the incredible Charlotte Harbor towards Boca Grande. Enjoy front row seats on the lanai for amazing sunsets over the blue expanse of the bay.
HOW IT WORKS: Call to check availability, and Ok your dates of occupancy. You submit your deposit of $650 and we'll email or fax our rental agreement for your signature. You mail or fax the original to us and we'll submit it to the Condominium Association for approval, which should be routine it you're over 55. We'll hold your dates and notify you as soon as you're accepted. You then send payment of the first and last month's rent within 10 days of acceptance as a tenant. Intervening months are to be received by us by the 1st of the month. In the unlikely event that we cannot accept you as a tenant, we'll immediately return your deposit with apologies.

One of our favorite new spots here is the beautiful Tiki bar that's a couple hundred feet North of here on the bay front promenade. $2 cocktails here at happy hour just happens to coincide with the sunset over one of Florida's most beautiful bays. There's usually some music being played, and everybody seems happy to be right where they're at!
For some other great new spots, walk a block East on the promenade to Laishley Park - there's a fine marina where you can buy shrimp right off the boat, and the Crab House where you can get a get an amazing lunch or dinner on the 2nd floor bayside balcony. The hotel next door features an open air bar on the 9th floor (tallest building in town) that is a popular place for a sundowner. Next to the hotel is Dean's Fresh Mexican, which oddly enough, had a pork BBQ sandwich that is the best!
From your condo, It's a on block walk South to Punta Gorda's restaurant row, which offers a wide variety of delicious food and unique atmospheres, shops, and Punta Gorda's historic district. It's also a short walk to one enormous Banyan tree that Mike and I climbed in as a kids and, stretching along the bay front, Gilcrest Park. The park features a wonderful bay front promenade, public tennis courts, small beach, gazebos and bandstands, a fishing pier, and a gathering every Thursday night of musicians and singers from all over Florida and the world. If you're hiding an instrument, be sure to bring it with you and join in.
It's a longer walk or a short drive to Fishermans' Village with its many shops, fun restaurants, entertainment, and marina. Drive 5 - 10 minutes to choice of grocery stores, the Walmart, etc. Driving 30 or 40 minutes in any directions will take you to some wonderful spots such as Boca Grande (don't miss Widen's Marina (truly the OLD south) and its beaches, Englewood beach, Arcadia (the antique capital of the South), picturesque Placida (don't miss the Fishhouse Restaurant) and Matlacha (eat and dance at Burt's Bar), Pine Island, Sanibel Island, Fort Myers, etc. No wonder Punta Gorda has been named by Money Magazine as one of five 5 best places to live in the United States.
NOTE: Our COVE ISLAND FISH CAMP ALSO AVAILABLE FOR RENT: We also have a very special Fish Camp for rent on a natural waterway 10 minutes out of Punta Gorda. It is currently rented for Jan. thru April, 2012 and 2013, but is available starting April '12 to mid December. We can consider shorter term rentals for this property out of the Jan - March season. What a great get-a-way this is! This 2 bedroom, 2 bath mobile home is in a great 55 or older park where the land is owned individually, but the amenities such as clubhouse and warm 20 x 40 pool are shared. Our fish camp has a 32' dock, canoe, and it's just minutes to the Peace River and its direct access to the Gulf of Mexico, plus hundreds of miles of river, bay and backwaters to explore and fish. The Camp has very comfortable accommodations for up to 4 guests plus a hide-a-bed for drop-ins. It's fully furnished in FISH CAMP CHIC and well appointed with most everything you'll need, heated and air-conditioned, expansive covered parking area, screened 12 x 30 river room overlooking the waterway, mangroves, and undeveloped land and water all the way to the sunset. Gas BBQ for waterfront cook-outs. There are even a couple of bikes you can use at your own risk. We may even consider allowing a small, well-trained pet. please inquire. Condo is right beside Convention Centre, and parks, where there is always an entertainment venue, festival, etc. going on, so lots you can do. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars, (not to mention a home made ice cream parlour) If you have a bicycle, bring it, bicycle racks provided) and the Harbor Walk walkway/bicycle way is all along the Peace River Estuary, that is right beside the unit. Fisherman's Village is close by with shops, restaurants, and marina with opportunities for boat tours, and fishing trips. Unit is clean, with ample cutlery, dishes, pots and pans, however, it could use a blender. Sectional couch needs to be replaced, very "soft and punky". Stayed four months, enjoyed our stay, would go back for 3 months next time. (Homesickness set in) Unit lanai look out on Peace River estuary, (great views) Most owners/tenants in this building are very friendly, with pot luck dinners once a month, snack nights once a week, and a morning coffee get together once a month. Heated Pool is nice size, and not too crowded. Some days only a handful of swimmers.
