Description of the Punta Gorda vacation home rental

Canal front vacation rental on the Peace River in Punta Gorda, Charlotte County, Florida. Wonderful 3 bedroom 2 bath on 165' of canal front. There is a large lanai that is accessible from the living room or the master bedroom.There is wireless internet, unlimited calling to over 40 countries, and Direct TV with HBO. A few steps down the embankment and you are on the boardwalk where there is a floating dock where you can launch the 2 kayaks that are included with the rental. A few paddles down the canal and you are on Jim Long Lake a few strokes from the Peace River. Everything you need to be on vacation is provided. All kitchen needs that you can think of. Complimentary wine is available for you when you arrive. We have 2 grapefruit trees- one white grapefruint and one seedless pink grapefruit. Help yourself! They are wonderful! There is very little traffic in the neighborhood so kids can ride bikes in the street if they want. There is a boat ramp about a 2 minute drive down the road and if you need fishing rods we have them available as well.

Area Information

The city of Punta Gorda is a short 10 mile drive down US Rt17. In town there are numerous restaurants and pubs. There is a downtown waterfront and a linear park which is on both sides of the river. Fisherman's Village is located in downtown Punta Gorda and is waterfront mall with shoppes and restaurants and nightlife.

We had a great stay in Punta Gorda at Ken's home. It has everything you need to just go for the month and not worry about anything else. The book was very helpfull to let us know where the beaches, resturants and grocery store were located. It gave us great directions. Your out in the country but very close to all the activity. Great place and would recommend it to everyone. Thank you Ken.

Peaceful, ideal location

The house in Port Charlotte was immaculate in cleaniness. Very spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting by the canal with our morning coffee while ibis and herons flew past. The neighbourhood was very quiet and people we encountered were friendly. The Wilson's helped us by having many brochures on hand and answering all our questions. THe location was perfect for exploring, many parks and reserves nearby. We visited Cayo Costa Island which was a nice day trip. Loved it there and wouldn't hestitate to stay here again.

Ken runs a great place; everything is just as the pictures show it and we could not have been more comfortable. Our time at Ken"s place was great. Ken was more than accomodating and the house was wonderful. I would like to rent it again next year. Nice and quiet on the canal, and only 20 minutes to all the action and shopping in Port Charlotte.

Very Nice house and host

This home is all it's advertised to be. Very comfortable, fresh and clean, well equipped and supplied including a welcoming bottle of wine and fruit off the front yard trees, quiet neighborhood. It's 15 minutes or so into Punta Gorda, maybe 45 minutes to ocean beaches. Owners very responsive host...pride of vacation rental ownership is evident.
