Description of the Punta del Este vacation home rental

This cozy beach house with a thatched roof is fully equipped and just steps away from the beach. Enjoy the tranquility, the views and be just 10 minutes away from Punta del Este. Ideal for those looking for peace and quiet and still close to Punta to enjoy its dining/shopping and all Punta has to offer. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from the upper deck or relax at the terrace level with a magnificent view of the dunes and ocean. Barely a ten minutes drive to the Arboretum Lussich and LaPataia farm (famous for its crepes and Jazz Festival)as well as a 20 min walk to the famous Casapueblo; it is an ideal place to really relax and have fun. The house accommodates 5 persons, with 2 good size bedrooms on the upper floor overlooking the ocean. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a full size refrigerator with freezer, a range, coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven and all the necessary kitchen utensils. The house is also equipped with a television and a DVD player, and a line telephone. The back features an inviting patio with BBQ pit.
We offer the option to rent with or without linens.

Area Information

Punta del Este is a very upscale holiday destination, with beautiful beaches on the Atlantic ocean, a variety of restaurants and shops to choose from.
The house is located barely a ten minutes drive to the Arboretum Lussich and LaPataia farm (famous for its crepes and Jazz Festival) as well as a 20 min walk to the famous Casapueblo.

Beautiful home on a quiet beach

November 24, 2012

If you are looking for a quiet, family-type vacation on a beautiful clean beach, this is the place. Nice, big usable space. Great kitchen. Bit of a view to the ocean and a short walk to the sand. We were often the only people on the beach. Very quiet neighborhood. The BBQ on the patio is a big plus and very fun. The thatched roof and white walls are utterly charming.

Perfect getaway from city life

My husband and I rented this beach house for a week after spending a week in Buenos Aires. It was a bit bigger than we needed but the location was perfect for unwinding after the hustle and bustle of BA. It is located just far enough from PDE that it was definately not tourist-y and felt a bit more Uruguayan than if we were to have stayed in PDE proper. This is a family-style beach house (think lake or beach cabin if you are from the States) and if you are looking for pristine gliz and glam with AC and pristine amenities this is probably not the house for you. Don't misunderstand - the house IS ADORABLE and had everything we needed (and thensome). We would rent it again in a second. The owner and the caretaker were extremely helpful too!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:How do I get there from Buenos Aires?

A:Options:
1. By Car. You can drive all the way from Buenos Aires to Punta del Este. It is a long drive, about 12 hours.
2. By Plane. There are many budget airlines leaving from Aeroparque to Montevideo, or to the Punta del Este Airport.
3. By Boat. The most popular is Buquebus. There you have the option of taking the ferry boat to Colonia; or to Montevideo; or during the high season to Piriapolis. From either one of those cities you can then rent a car and make your way to Ocean Park. Colonia is worth a visit; just a 2 hour drive to Montevideo and another and a half hour drive to Punta del Este.

Q:Do I need to rent car?

A:Yes, you do. It is much easier to get around with a car. A lot of the major car rental companies are in Uruguay also. You can use Budget, Hertz, Avis, Thrifty for example. If you don't want to rent a car, a taxi service is also an option. Or there's a bus on the main interstate; however, the walk to get there is about 30 minutes and the times the bus run are limited

Q:When is the high season?

A:The high season starts mid-December and runs until school starts sometime in March. The water is good starting in November up until the end of April.
