Studio to recommend!

I lived in the studio for 3 1/2 months as I was a student at Laval University. The house is very well located in a very quiet area, bus and shops nearby. Laval University is also very close, you can walk there in 20 minutes or by bus in 5 minutes. The studio is very comfortable, clean and everything is installed. The family of Agnes is very welcoming and kind. I can really recommend the studio! Thank you very much for this fantastic time in Quebec!

We had a very nice stay at this apartment- it was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. It is on a quiet street and you can walk to some nice local restaurants/stores on Maguire Street. It was an easy drive of about 10 minutes into the heart of the Old City Quebec. The landlords, Louis and Agnes, were very friendly and helpful. They spoke both English and French fluently. They were very accommodating and allowed us to bring our dog along. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay in this comfy apartment.

A good choice

We enjoyed our stay at the 2 BR apartment. It's a good location, with shops, restaurants, bakeries, grocery all nearby. We appreciated having a kitchen & laundry facilities. The neighborhood is quiet, the beds comfortable. We even used the yard and the grill one evening. It suited our needs well--2 adults, 1 child, 1 dog. The shower was underpowered, but did the job. Our only complaints had to do with things out of the owner's control. Construction trucks & workers coming and going next door, plus noise all day, and someone in the area had a fire most evenings, which left the apartment smoky. The weather during our stay was perfect, and we would have enjoyed having the windows open all night. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, and Gustav is a happy dog! Overall it was a good choice for us, and I'd recommend it and stay here again if we come back.

Comfortable apartment in a pleasant setting

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment during the first week of July. It was a most pleasing vacation experience. The apartment itself has ample room; I think five persons could stay in it comfortably. The very large kitchen is furnished with an abundance of equipment for meal preparation. We especially appreciated the coffee supplies made available by the owner as it's just what is needed in the morning after a long trip! The paintings on the walls make for a pleasant environment. We had to use the air conditioner on only one day during the stay and the cooling equipment worked very well. The apartment has a backyard shaded by tall trees, making for pleasant outdoor meal opportunities if one desires. The neighborhood is located on the ridge that runs along the St. Laurent River and is full of tall trees. It's most pleasing on the eyes and makes for enjoyable strolls. The Parc du Bois-de-Coulogne is just a few blocks away and provides an enjoyable walking area as well as excellent river views if you go down the hill. The apartment is located about three miles from Vieux Quebec. It's an easy drive to the tourist area on the Gran Allee Boulevard. However, we recommend taking the bus instead, specifically the #11 bus, which has a stop a half block from the apartment and runs every 15 minutes during most of the day and every half hour during other times during the day. A bus trip costs only $3 and eliminates any parking concerns. The bus takes 15 minutes to reach Vieux Quebec. The Avenue Maquire commercial area, about three blocks from the apartment, provides good dining opportunities if you want to eat nearby. It's the homelike setting of the apartment in a very convenient neighborhood that makes for a good stay.

Lovely Apartment in a Lovely Neighbourhood

I stayed in the Studio while interning in Quebec City for the summer. For 1 or 2 adults, the Studio is great. The apartment is very well maintained and the bed is comfortable. Water pressure in the shower is good and I never ran out of hot water. As far as location is concerned, I couldn't have been happier. Situated on a quiet tree-lined street, nearly everything you need is within walking distance (IGA grocery store, drug store, numerous restaurants, bakeries, shops, laundromat - the Studio apartment does not have laundry facilities). Parc du Bois-de-Coulogne, one of the nicest inner-city parks I have ever seen, is also a 10-15 minute walk away and should not be missed. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the #11 bus can be caught about 150 yards from the apartment and will get you to Old Quebec in about 20 minutes. If you take the bus in the other direction you will end up at the large mall complex (Laurier Quebec, Place Sainte-Foy) in less than 10 minutes. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and do not hesitate to recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice place to temporarily call home while you visit the city.

We had a lovely time in Quebec City and were quite happy that we chose to stay at this apartment. We were a family of three and rented the Studio (one bedroom) and it worked out fine for us. The apartment is well equipped, with a spacious bedroom. It is located in a nice neighbourhood, with an outdoor public pool and playground nearby which is great for families, restaurants on Maguire, and a grocery store. It is a short drive to the old city (10-15 mins max). The hosts are very kind, offering suggestions and helping with directions. I would stay there again.

Perfect All Around

I really wish that I could write a bad review just to make sure that I have availability in future years, but ... I can't. This place was perfect for us. We are a family of 3 and rented the Studio, since our daughter is only 4 the Studio was roomy enough. The place was very clean and had all the amenities. We loved the location and took advantage of the pool just a few minutes away as well as the playground. A five minute walk (if that) in either direction will take you to some great little shops, restaurants and cafes as well as grocery stores, bank and pharmacy. You are just a few minutes, driving, in either directions to either Old Quebec, Shopping Malls and major highways. This was a perfect location for us and will surely make our reservation early for next year. The hosts were nice and welcoming, it made us feel like we were visiting friends. Highly recommended

Quiet neighborhood

Clean apartment, quiet and safe location. Very easy to get to the Old City by car. Owners very friendly and accommodating, more than willing to share information about what to do and where to go. Perhaps a few more appointments to make the apartment more inviting, like sugar for coffee, soap for the dishwasher, newer bath towels?

Loved the location- took you out of the thick of things in the downtown area AND Maguire st. is awesome! Made you feel like a local..... the apartment was nice- it was a bit tight for 3 adults, a teenager and 2 children, but it worked- nice full kitchen, very comfortable feeling.... A little pricey But we really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful apartments in lovely neighbourhood

We are a family of four (2 kids). When we arrived, we stayed in the studio for six nights. Our original plan had been to stay for four, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay two more nights. It was snug for 4 people, so if you are a family that wants a little space, I would recommend the condo (which we also stayed in later - see below). However, the studio is well organized, so if you are happy to be cosy, it can be work well for a small family, and is impossible to beat in terms of price. There is an outdoor pool around the corner, that has convenient hours for family swim. The neighbourhood is lovely, with quiet tree lined streets. Just a couple blocks away are all the shops of Macquire (sp?) street, with a yummy bakery, coffee shops, wine store, a great small grocery that had everything we needed, and an array of restaurants. The apartment is convenient to downtown - a short drive, or you can take the 11 bus which stops very near the apartment and takes you straight to the old city. We also stayed briefly in the condo on our the return leg of our trip (because the studio was full at that time). This was luxuriously spacious and sunny. Both apartments are great and the hosts are wonderful. This was a much better experience for our family than any hotel - highly recommended!

Studio est très bien situé, à 2 pas du centre commercial dans la rue Maguire, de très beau parc près de la fleuve de Saint-Laurent et à 2-4 km d'avenue Laurier et du Vieux Quebec. Studio est beau, propre, confortable, il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour passer des bons vacances à Quebec !! Le quartier est très calme avec beaucoup d'arbres et d'oiseaux, qui chante tout le temps. C'est vraiment un petit paradis au centre ville !! Merci beaucoup aux propriétaires pour leur accueil formidable, pour leur aide et leur compagnie !! Studio à recommander !

We stayed here for a week and loved the neighborhood; bus stop on the corner of our street for vieux Quebec and a pool 5 minute walk away. Restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Loved it and would stay there again. Big grocery store 5 minute by car.

Comfortable & Convenient!

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment for 4 nights...great for our family of 5 (3 adults, 2 children). Plenty of room for us all. Kitchen was very clean & fully equipped for preparing any type of meal. Appreciated the teabags in the cupboard! Washer & dryer was very useful to have. Beds were comfortable, sofa bed a little less so. Information on the local shops & services provided by our gracious hosts was very helpful (thanks for recommending Montego's...we can understand why it's a favourite restaurant!). Staying at the apartment for 4 nights was a lot nicer than staying in a hotel, as it felt like a home, not a place just to sleep. Our trip to Quebec City is now a happy memory & we hope to return.

This studio was small but perfectly comfortable for our family of two adults and two kids. We made good use of the kitchen and we loved Maguire Street, just 5 minutes' walk away, where at the superb bakery/deli we purchased fresh-baked croissants in the morning and duck-stuffed phyllo to bake in the evening. The Pope once visited the beautiful church nearby with its amazing view of the St. Lawrence. Most invaluable was the very gracious host's list of favourite must-do sights and activities, with complete 1- to 3-day itineraries of Quebec City and area. We only wished we could have stayed longer here as the neighbourhood is historic and worth exploring more.

Owners are nice people. Safe, quiet neighborhood, with suburban feel. Great location, close to the Old City. We (married couple) stayed in the studio for 3 nights and felt a little cramped in, but that's probably just us. Bed was comfortable, pull-out sofa was less so. Still, a good value for the money.
