Log Chalet on 70 acre riverfront plateau (#2854)

Quebec City, Quebec, Canada

Description of the Quebec City vacation chalet rental

If you are searching for the ideal place to unwind, explore nature, sit on a patio and sip a morning coffee, or wrap up in a blanket in front of a wood fireplace, then you will love our log home. Built in 1993 out of massive logs, our home features 4 bedrooms and a loft. Nicely furnished and equipped with new appliances, it has everything you need for a relaxing and memorable vacation. The huge south-facing bay window overlooks an open plateau and an impressive mountain range. Sit on the porch and hear nothing but singing birds and the sound of the river echoing in the valley. Hike down to one of the two rivers that our property fronts. If you're quiet you might just see a fox, wild rabbit, deer or (although quite rare)a moose! In the summer the river is a great place for swimming, picnicing or fishing for river trout. If you happen to come in August you can enjoy the experience of picking wild blueberries. We have at least 5 acres full of blueberries!

Winter is a great time. Sled right off the porch. Or go snowshoeing in waist deep snow. You will be mesmerized by the beauty. Fall colors are splendid from early September to mid October. The mountains are aflame.

And for you hot tub lovers, we just installed a hot tub outside overlooking the mountains! The hot tub can be drained and filled with fresh water before you arrive. (Inquire for additional fees.) The hot tub will be open in the summer months - please inquire as to when.

What is so amazing is that you can jump in your car and in 30 minutes you can be right in the middle of the old walled city of Quebec with its outstanding pubs, quaint cafes, museums, horsedrawn carriages, etc... There are also several ski resorts and golf courses within 10-30 minutes. There is something for everyone and for every season.

Area Description

In addition to all that can be enjoyed right on our property, within a few short miles you can experience:

horseback riding
dogsledding

Just perfect for us. A beautiful veiw out the large windows and a short walk down to the water. Not a bad senic drive into the city. Cabin was clean and easy to make home. The veiw of the stars from the hot tub at night is breath taking. Owner was awesome about checking in to make sure everything was ok without "bugging" us. We Will be back, with a longer stay next time. 3 days was not nearly enough.

We've stayed here a couple of times and have really enjoyed it. It is a beautiful cabin located on a beautiful piece of property. We would not hesitate to use it again.

It was my first time in Quebec. We had friends from abroad and the chalet seemed to me prefect for a tipical canadian scenery. And it was! Although the weather was a little bit cloudy and rainy, the fall seaason combined with with the log chalet and fireplace gave us a memorable time. The chalet is well equiped, clean and spacious. The place is relaxing and beautiful.

Beautiful environment. The area has many great things to do. I recommend this chalet for people who love the outdoors. Good for children, too. Lots of things for them to do.

 25 th anniversary, August 12, 2008
By André Bisson (Québec city, PQ, Canada)
We already knew that chalet for it has been our house for 12 years in the past... We received friends and the chalet is well built to gather lots of people. It is a very quiet and calm place where we had many good times being in family; in fact wecelebrated our 25 th mariage anniversry... The landscape is beautiful, wild, and for me (quadraplégic and always in a wheel-chair)everything is well adapted. We thank God for this memorable time... André Bisson

We really enjoyed our trip to this log home this spring time. Neither of us had seen that much (3-4 ft) snow (especially in spring time) in recent memory so it was really a unique experience for us. Having snow shoes was great because there is lot to explore and for pictures. Most of the days were bright and sunny so we could almost walk around in T-shirts in the afternoon. The fireplace was also great and there was plenty of wood available. My only problem was my "wonderful" rear-wheel drive car without snow tires that seems to enjoy getting stuck in the driveway. Of course that is mostly our fault in our choice of cars for the trip. When you are first driving into the town it doesn't feel very secluded or even as mountainous as you'd expect but once you're in the cabin it is exactly like the pictures show with mountains to view and privacy. I imagine the area might be fun to explore with snowmobiles (if the owner permits). We are looking forward to a summer/fall stay

 QUEBEC CHALET, October 24, 2007
By Ted Mitchell (Plymouth, MA, USA)
Our August trip to Quebec was an excellent experience. The chalet we rented was clean, roomy, and very well equipped. The view of the mountains was exceptional. The little town of Ste. Bridget de la Valle was quaint and enjoyable. The golf course was first class. Our side trips to Quebec City and The St. Lawrence River were both educational and enjoyable. The four adults in our group aLL had a great stay. Ted mitchell
