Description of the Raquette Lake vacation cabin rental
Does a vacation or a get-away get any better than quiet time at The Loft in Raquette Lake? Located in the tiny hamlet of Raquette Lake, Hamilton County, Central Adirondacks of Northern New York, The Loft makes an ideal location for your vacation. Whatever your particular winter sport, be it snowmobiling, alpine or cross country skiing, showshoeing, skating, ice fishing or winter hiking, access to necessary trails or facilities is only minutes away. And to soothe tired muscles, soak up the dry heat in our authentic Finnish sauna. Then go roll in the snow to cool off. Repeat numerous times. Sooooo refreshing. Soooo soothing.

Go to raquettelakerentals site listed below for photos.

Seasonal rental- $6000 mid-Dec through mid-April

An Adirondack-style housekeeping cottage, The Loft has 2 bedrooms: a MB with full bed and 1/2 bath; another bedroom with 4 built-in bunks and full bath (shower).
LR with wood-burning fireplace (we provide wood) & satellite TV.
Kitchen with full cooking and dining utensils for six, our maximum occupancy. Microwave, coffee maker.
In addition to the fireplace there is electric heat to keep you cozy on those -30 degree nights! And a heated garage for snowmachine storage and repair. Plenty of parking for trailers and vehicles.
We provide blankets and pillows. You provide bed linen and towels and save the 7% sales tax.

Safe, quiet, secluded. Off the beaten path. Right on the snowmobile trail coming from Eagle Bay, Uncas Rd.

Lake Placid and Lake George are just 90 minutes drive; Gore Mt in North Creek just 45 min; Wild Center at Tupper Lake just 50 min; Old Forge 30 min. Blue Mountain Lake and Inlet just 15 min.
Area Info
When you choose to vacation or get-away in the Adirondacks, you're choosing a 6 million acre state park made up of privately and publicly owned land. The Adirondack State Park is the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states. Driving is a way of life. Think about it- you can't have remote, pristine wilderness within 1/2 hour drive of a major city! Raquette Lake is centrally located: 2.5 hr drive from Albany, Syracuse, Burlington (Vt) or Plattsburgh; 1.5 hr drive from Utica/Rome, Lake George or Lake Placid; 1/2 hr drive from Old Forge, Indian Lake or Long Lake. But the effort is worth it! When you get here, you've entered sacred space.

The State land is constitutionally protected from any kind of development- thus "forever wild." Raquette Lake, with 99 miles of shoreline, is the largest natural lake in the Adirondacks. 80% of the shoreline is owned by the State so you won't see many camps or people- just pristine shoreline, woods and wildlife.

Visit the Natural History Museum in Tupper Lake, the Wild Center! Lake Placid is just 75 miles north- a nice day trip. Other day trip possibilities include Lake George, Inlet and Old Forge with activity, shopping and dining options galore!

People come to this part of the Adirondacks to enjoy the outdoor recreational opportunities, the history and the solitude. It's quiet. It's not commercial. It's a different world.

Adirondack Winter Wonderland

February 1, 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at The Loft. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was plenty of wood provided for the fireplace. We brought our own linens which was no problem. We didn't have the opportunity to enjoy a sauna as we spent our time ice fishing and snowmobiling. Not a four star hotel, but nice hosts and excellent location to enjoy all that Raquette Lake winters have to offer.

We went for the sauna and enjoyed that as well as the fireplace in the Loft. Not much to do nearby because it was mud season.
