Description of the Raquette Lake vacation cottage rental
This cottage (small house really) is located on Raquette Lake in the heart of the Adirondacks just a few steps from the shoreline. The property sits on a private bay with the nearest neighbor to the east approximately 500 feet away, separated by forest, and state land forest to the west.
There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and two twins in each of the other two bedrooms, as well as 2 full baths. Hardwood floors throughout and pine paneling and windows that surround the dining and living area make for great views and wonderful light.
A full kitchen with all cooking utensils, coffee pot, toaster and microwave make for a comfortable home away from home. A gas grill is also provided. Directv satellite and wireless internet.
We provide two canoes for you to explore the lake and there are two marinas within one mile. We have a dock if you'd like to bring your own boat. Canoers and kayakers will love exploring the many bays and streams and power boaters can ride to their heart's content on the largest lake in the Adirondacks with 99 miles of shoreline.
A lean-to with fireplace (wood provided) will let you enjoy roasting marshmallows and watching shooting stars.
Area Description
Raquette Lake is in the heart of the 6 million (yes, 6 million) acre Adirondack Park. Hiking trails, whether to waterfalls or up mountains, are abundant.
Where you can go from here in:
3 minutes: You will find in Raquette Lake village a general store, laundromat, post office, two churches, library, restaurant/bar, W.W. Durant cruise and dine and the town dock where you can get a free boat ride to historic St. Williams for their wonderful Thursday night programs.
15 minutes: Raquette Lake is home to Great Camp Sagamore; Blue Mtn. Lake is home to the world class Adirondack Museum and the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts; golf course and tennis courts in Inlet.
30 minutes: Old Forge, Long Lake and Indian Lake with more golf courses, seaplane rides, Enchanted Forest Water Safari to name a few attractions.
60 minutes: Tupper Lake 's new Natural History Museum and Gore Mtn. in North Creek for mountain biking and gondola rides.
90 minutes: Lake Placid and Lake George
