Reviews for this vacation cabin rental in Raystown Lake, Pennsylvania
The cabin was so beautiful, clean, spacious and very nicely designed. I felt right at home the minute we pulled up to the cabin! We really enjoyed our stay there! I will definitely stay there again and will recommend this lodge to anyone who will be staying in the area. The owner is very friendly and very easy to work with. Always prompt in answering my questions and overall a very nice person! Stay there!! You will not be sorry!!!!!
My wife & I were celebrating our 1st anniversary together & wanted to to go someplace that we could also take our dog. It had been a few years since we had visited the Lake, so we were excited when we found a cabin that allowed a small pet to stay. Bittersweet Lodge was the perfect place for us to stay. Everything about the cabin was a perfect fit for all of our needs. We had the best, most relaxing anniversary stay at Bittersweet Lodge.
We loved Bittersweet Lodge. The log construction is wonderful and the furnishings lovely and comfortable. Patrice added a lot of nice touches, like hand soap in the bathrooms and bottled water in the frig. The location is perfect for riding the Allegrippis Trails, but is equally great for the marina on 7 Points Road. And it is only a short drive into Huntingdon for dining. But the gas grill is so convenient that we bought groceries and cooked dinner instead! And the flat screen TV was perfect for watching DVDs at night, after a relaxing swing on the porch swing. The only thing bitter about this place is having to leave.
My aunt & uncle are the owners of this beautiful lodge. Once we knew they were building it we knew we definitely wanted to make a visit with our friends & family. As the year went by our calenders filled up, but fortunately were able to set up a trip with about 3 weeks notice for this past weekend. We knew based on their work it would be nice, but everyone was blown away how nice the cabin, all the amentities, & the whole area was. Everyones reaction was the pictures do not do it justice. It was also nice to be so close to the store if you needed anything. The short distance & easy drive to the lake was also a big bonus. Everyone was sad to leave but mentioned about definitely putting it on our calender to visit the lodge again.
I ran out of room on my previous review, and I wanted to add a couple things. First, this site did not allow me to post my e-mail address, so if you would like to contact me about my stay, I have given Patrice permission to give out my e-mail address to those who would like a reference. Second, I just want to also compliment Patrice's husband and two sons who constructed the beautiful lodge. Their craftsmanship is second to none. If I ever have the money to build a custom log home, they will be the first people I contact.
We had a fantastic time staying at the Bittersweet Lodge. It is a real log home, and it is absolutely beautiful inside, but I was most impressed with the owner Patrice. She went to great lengths to make sure our stay was a wonderful experience. The home has all of the comforts of your own home, and everything inside and out was top notch. You can tell that they spared no expense to make sure everyone that stays here will have a great time. They even provided firewood for their guest to build fires in the fire pit. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed. I just can't say enough about our time there and the quality service that Patrice provided. I have already recommended Bittersweet to everyone I know! Thanks again Patrice for all that you did for us, and we can't wait to see you again next year! I am displaying my e-mail address for anyone that might have any questions about my stay, so feel free to contact me if you would like a first hand testimonial.

This past week has been extremely enjoyable. First, thank you for all your time and help. Your hospitality is very apparent, by making Bittersweet Lodge feel like a home away from home. We have spent many hours this week sitting on the front porch talking and relaxing. We will be back to enjoy your home again. Staying here has made us realize how much we would like to live in a log home. Mark & Pat Pinder, Phoenixville, PA, 8/16/09

We cannot thank you enough for making our Wedding Day and night so perfect. The Lodge is beautiful!! It was such a relaxing place for me as the bride to get ready fo my wedding...I wrote the vows here. We have a 3 year old little girl and she kept calling the Lodge "Snow Whites Cabin". I truly felt like a princess and so did our little girl. All the special touches you did to make our wedding romantic and special were greatly appreciated. We are already making plans to come back. Stacy & Aaron, Our Wedding Day, 9/6/09.

Your cabin is absolutely beautiful. We had a great weekend. The weather was perfect, the area was so quiet and then the cabin added to our comfort. I can't wait to come back. You were most helpful in making our stay easy and comfortable and we thank you. Shantae, Daniel & Baby Savannah, NJ, June 2009 PS - thanks for lending us your playpen for Savannah!
I can't thank you enough for your wonderful assistance and hospitality. Staying in your home was a true pleasure as our every need and comfort was met beyond expectation. I can't wait until next year's Creation event and to stay in your home again. Please book us for the Creation dates next year. Thank you again. You must be a wonderful person and I hope to meet you in person next time. Randy L., North Greece, NY, June 2009
May 10,2009. Thank you so much for opening your lovely home early to us. Between the new trails (at Raystown Lake for biking, hiking and cross country skiing), and the new home, this has been a weekend to remember. Frank & Elizabeth, International Mountain Bicycling Asociation.
What a wonderful place to relax between laps of the Allegrippis Trail network. The rustic feel with all the modern conveniences you want, made this cabin perfect after a long day in the saddle. I'm not sure where the "Bitter" is; this is all "Sweet"! Thanks for a wonderful couple of days. Mike Kuhn, Mountain Bike Team, Pennsylvania.
