Description of the Readfield vacation cabin rental
You can fish from the dock, explore Torsey Lake by canoe or kayak (BYOBoat), grill up some steaks on the grill and relax around the campfire. Features include: 100% pine bead-board interior, campfire pit, wood stove, full modern kitchen and appliances, stainless gas grill, , shower, telephone, cable T.V. with VCR and wireless high speed internet (BYO notebook). Together these make this cabin a great value in additional to being a beautiful spot.
Clean towels, dishes, kitchen utensils, bedding and firewood are provided. The cabin has a large 14’ x 17’ loft which sleeps 2 (one double bed) plus a convertible divan downstairs in the living area which sleeps 2. (Possible additional sleeping on the screened-in porch swing although that mattress is thin). Cabin rates quoted are for 4 persons - additional overnight guest: $75 per person per week or fraction thereof.
A refundable damage deposit will be collected.
No smoking inside the cabin please.
Check-in: 1pm, check-out: 11am.
Please inquire about current availability, multiple week discounts, extended check-in/out times prior to booking. Utilities are included and well behaved pets are welcomed. For booking stays less than 2 consecutive weeks, please be advised that confirmation may be delayed. This restriction does not apply after April 15 and, as always, bookings for 2 or more consecutive weeks will receive a $90/wk. discount and be confirmed immediately.
Area Information
You will not be disappointed by their selection - especially if you book early. Collins will book your preferred vessel and arrange pick-up & delivery to the lake. You can then leave the boat tied-up to the dock for the duration of your stay. Note: guests are responsible for any damage to dock or this property.

Great Week!!

We had a great week! The cabin had everything we needed. The fire wood was split, seasoned and ready to go. The notebook worked great on the WIFI. The fishing on the lake was great. The small market (store) was well stocked and close by. We will stay there again!!

My wife and I stayed at Steve's camp last summer and are definitely planning on staying again this year. Great old Maine camp in a great location. The screen porch really adds to the whole experience giving you a place to hang out even if the weather doesn't co operate. Wood stove was also a great addition to what was already a perfect weekend getaway. Met the owner who happened to be coming in as we were leaving. Great guy, easy to work with. Overall wonderful time.

The perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm

We spent a wonderful long autumn weekend here. It was very peaceful and relaxing, sitting by the heat of the woodstove reading with the fall foliage reflecting off the lake outside the windows. Finding a great selection of books to pick from was a bonus! We noticed that a nearby orchard was having its annual apple festival as we toured the local back roads and checked out a couple of antique shops. Although the weather was chilly, as Maine can be in October, the little wood stove kept the cabin toasty warm. We never turned on the propane heater. Having a full kitchen with gas range and dishwasher allowed us to cook and eat in all weekend. This property manages a fine balance between feeling like a rustic Maine cabin or camp while having all the amenities of a modern home.

This is a great place to come to after a long hard week at work. It is peaceful, calming and rejuvinates. The fishing is great. I have landed many large mouth bass right from the dock. It is a great location for day trips to local tourist sites i.e the state house and the fort along the Kennebec river.
