Description of the Reedville vacation guesthouse rental

We start with the dock and fun stuff. We can e-mail pictures of the home which is a completely furnished guest home and will sleep up to 10, fully equiped eat in kitchen with a dishwasher, full size washer and dryer, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, den, screen enclosed porch, deck with a gas grill, Direct tv., horseshoes, dock and boat ramp. All linens are provided for Daily/weekends.

We have a large yard that is great for kids to play and ride bikes. Also crabbing and fishing are good from the dock. Crab pots & paddle boat are available.

Renting this property for 25 years we have found it hard to simply list a price. We can have a couple for a day or a fishing party of 10, a family reunion, a company golf and charter fishing or a evening cruise or people moving to the area and building a home. So call us and let's discuss your needs and we will try to accomodate them.

Area Information

We are located on the rivah at 97 Lucys Lane Reedville Va. 22539. We are just minutes away from great restaurants and local marinas in the area such as Buzzard's Point Marina, Smith Point Marina, Tangier Island and Smith Island cruises.

Great shopping as well.

By boat we are just minutes away from The Potomac River, Maryland waters and the Chesapeake Bay in the Smith Point area.

Cockrell licious!

We had a great time in this nice quite place right on the water! This is for quiet and easy times. If you are looking for rides and boardwalk French fries, go to another place. Lots of peace and quite here! Beautiful sunrise and sunsets on the water. Cockrell's Seafood for lunch every day while we are here! Homeowners are wonderful and friendly! Had a problem with a flat tire and they were able to help out! Look forward to our return next year! Happy Client!

Another Great Vacation

August 21, 2012

This is our 2nd stay at this location and its wonderful! We had so much fun crabbing, paddle boating and just sitting by the water enjoying the peace and quiet. The remodeling of the house was awesome and you have everything there that you could possibly need. We will continue to make this our place to stay when we visit Reedville. Thank you again Mr. and Mrs. Haynie for sharing your beautiful home so that our vacation would be another memorable one for the books. Can't wait to visit again!!

Great family vacation

August 20, 2012

My family and I stayed at the Haynie's beach home for a week. It was sort of a family reunion for us as we had not all gone on vacation together since my mother passed away in 2002. We had a great time. The Haynie's are nice people and were helpful in making sure we had a good time. We got to fish and crab and we went out on the boat to the beach several times. We drove to Virmar Beach once too and that was wonderful with the waves the kids got to ride their floats on. The house had plenty of room so we did not have to stay all bunched up in one room together. We got to play cards, Scrabble, etc. The kids had a wonderful time crabbing from the dock and checking the crab pots. The view of the water was pretty and peaceful. There was a good breeze sitting in the Adarondack chairs in the yard. My husband and I especially enjoyed going out on the dock at night (when the rest of the family was asleep) and just sit watching the falling stars and chatting. We rode into Kilmarnock and Reedville. We went to the fisherman's museum and just looked at some of the old homes. It was a lovely vacation. The only things that would have made it better, would have been a pool and internet access but we knew they were not available when we rented so it was not a problem at all.

Best week yet

August 1, 2012

This was our fifth time staying here. We brought our good friends who have been here before with us and also brought our neighbors, also good friends who have not been here before. When we walked in a saw the remodelling that was done we were shocked. The kitchen is 3 times the size it was and gorgeous. The new tv's and the new furniture in the living room were also wonderful. Our neighbors who have not been here before told us again last night what a wonderful relaxing time they had. The weather could have cooperated a little better (too hot to sit out) except for one day we sat outside all day. We explored some new places to eat and shop. All in all we could not have asked for a better vacation place. Jim and Debbie, the owners, were so friendly and we enjoyed getting to know them better also. I did not go to the dock, but the rest of our company went down and loved it. They even caught some fish and crabs. The home is very well stocked with everything you could need for the week. The kitchen had all the things that we have in our own home which was nice. It is a great family place and we cannot wait to go back again next year..

Fun Family Get-Away

June 15, 2012

We liked it so much we returned again this year. To our surprise the first floor has been remodeled and the kitchen is twice the size....perfect for our family of nine. We had planned on going out for dinner, but no one wanted to leave the house.....including our four teenage granddaughters!! They had fun crabbing from the dock, riding around on the paddle boat, or just curled up with a good book in chairs that overlooked the river. And how convenient it was that the fishing boat my husband had chartered could pick us up right at their dock! Mr. & Mrs. Haynie thought of all the details that their guests might need...the house is well equipped. Comvenient, cozy, comfortable, quiet, scenic....what more could you ask for when looking for a fun family get-away!

What a treat

What a wonderful place to stay. The landlords were very friendly, We enjoyed the dock, where my great-grandson was able to crab and fish( to early for any size fish) but he had a great time. It was so nice to be in a place where it was so quiet and you didn't feel like you needed to go anywhere.. You didn't even need to the TV on. We were so relaxed that you felt like just staying forever. The weather couldn't have been any nicer. Definitely a place we will return too, hope it make it a yearly place to visit.

I grew up on the water and miss it dearly, we have rented with this property for years now and keep coming back. The low key atmosphere and great access to the water makes it feel like I am a kid again. Fishing is awesome, close to amenities but far enough away that there are no intrusions. Bring a rod and a great book and you will be set.
