The House

We have decided to rent Árhvammur(Riverside), our vacation home to individuals ready to enjoy nature and unwind and relax in this breathtaking environment.
Árhvammur, is situated near the renowned swimming pool , Laugaskarð in Hveragerði, a small geothermal town, only 45km away from Reykjavík.
The house is 200 m2 (2153 sqft) with an open family/ kitchen area. It features 4 spacious rooms (sleeps 10 easily) and 3 bathrooms.
The spacious deck is wonderful for outdoor enjoyment, as well as the property itself, which is 11400 m2 (123,000 sqft) or (2.82 acres)

Surroundings

Located 45 km from Reykjavik, Hveragerði may be seen from the vantage point of the Kambar mountain slope, as it spreads out across a 5,000 year-old lava field. Throughout the year, pillars of steam may be seen rising up out of the town – and in summer the town is truly a green community, abounding in trees. A green revolution is taking place as areas of woodland in and around Hveragerði expand, with the locals working together in order to further develop their blossoming town.

Geothermal area
Without a doubt, Hveragerði´s, most precious gem is it´s geothermal area – there cannot be many communities in the world with hot springs literally in their back yard. For safety reasons, the geothermal area is securely fenced off, but may be visited by arrangement with the tourist information centre.
