Markets and shopping within 5 miles. Great place for a family to spend a week! Inexpensive vacation right at the Mass/NH border, near Rt. 202 and Rt. 119. 1½ hours for Boston, Concord NH, 1 hours from Manchester NH, and Worcester MA. Keene, NH, Jaffrey and Peterborough NH and their cultural events restaurants and nightlife is a short drive away. Local Attractions include the Mt. Monadonock region and all of its summer events. Mt. Monadonock is the most hiked mountain in the United States, so the cottage is a great place to explore the area from Fishing is good at the lake and water sports like kayaking and boating are part of the scene.

Exactly what we wanted

We rented the house for a long weekend. It was exactly as described. Very comfortable, very nice. Gorgeous view of the lake. I had hoped to take advantage of the grill but it was colder and much rainier than we expected. Still we had a great time. I would love to be there in the summer to be able to take advantage of the lake and the kayak! Owner was a pleasure to work with. If we had a question or needed anything, he was a cell phone call away and totally responsive. My security deposit was returned in less than a week.

My Wife and I have visited the cottage about every other year since discovering it. The quiet weekdays lead to more activity on the lake in the evening and then pristine nights. We read, kayak, sunbathe and swim. Evenings we alternate preparing and surprising each other with a glass of wine, gourmet dinner out on the deck with view of the lake and spectacular sunsets. Follow that with a camp fire and a fine sipping brandy. You can see other beaches across the lake enjoying their campfires. This has been a fine respite to recharge our batteries. For us its every other year as we alternate between here and the ocean; but we love this quaint cottage and always look forward to contacting the owners to say put us on the calendar.

I love this place, have been bringing my family here for years... cottage is comfortable.. picinic area is great for a family gathering....beach is nice....docks are great to sit on as well....I bring my boat when I come, whether it motor boating and water ski and tubing, or its kayaks and sailing, this is a great lake to explore....evening campfires at the beach cap off the days with memories...
