The Hydeaway is a very nice & comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath chalet with cathedral ceiling, woodburning fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and an open deck to enjoy the woodsy setting and distant mountain views. Easily accessible on a private gravel road, the Hydeaway is situated on 1.10 acres in a small residential mountain development. The development has a picnic area by the creek (Sawyer Creek - a designated trout stream)for your enjoyment or stay at the chalet and have a cookout where you can dine at the picnic table on the open deck. With the cool mountain air, how about relaxing on the open deck with a fire in the Chimnea?? Gaze at the stars... Listen to the sounds of nature.... The Hydeaway is a great place to relax and forget the stresses of everyday life yet close to all Smoky Mountain adventures, restaurants & shopping. Available Year Around - Weather Permitting....

The Hydeaway Chalet is conveniently located to all outdoor adventures and tourist attractions including swimming, boating, fishing in the pristine mountain lakes of Lake Fontana & Lake Santeetlah. This cozy & comfortable chalet is a few miles from Stecoah Valley and the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center where you can visit a local artisan gallery (open daily) or enjoy an evening of Appalachian style entertainment on a Saturday night, during the Appalachian Summer Evening Concert Series. You can even call ahead and make a reservation for a delicious homestyle country dinner which is served at the center before the concert begins. Looking for adventures? How about the challenge of mountain biking? Mountain bikes are available for rent at nearby business establishments and you will be challenged with the mountain bike trails at Tsali Recreation Area as they travel an area that provides majestic views of Lake Fontana & the mountains in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Hydeaway is within a 15 to 20 minute drive of the Tsali Recreation Area. If whitewater rafting or kayaking is on your list of adventure activities, you're a short drive to the Nantahala River for a family friendly whitewater river and the Cheoah River for the more experienced with Class III & IV+ rapids. Be sure to check water release dates if you plan on rafting or kayaking on the Cheoah River!! There are numerous hiking trails throughout the county and one of the most famous trails is The Appalachian Trail. A section day hike on the AT is easily accessible from nearby trailheads that are within a 10 to 15 minute drive. If you want to hike but don't want something as strenuous as The AT, a short drive to Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest will provide you with one of the most beautiful, memorable hikes in this area. This forest is a virgin timber forest where you will see giant trees over 400 years old. If you're a family of 4, try reaching around the base of one of those giant trees and you will probably find that you need another person or two for everyone to join hands!! A scenic drive on the Cherohala Skyway which is a designated National Scenic By-Way will take you through wilderness mountain country and elevations over a mile high (5,280'+). With many photo opts, picnic spots and hiking trails along the skyway, don't forget the camera, snacks & drinks!!! We're close to trout streams for fly fishing, horseback riding stables, gem mining, Junaluska Memorial & Museum for Cherokee Indian History and a trail that has plants & herbs with information on how the Cherokee Indians used them for medicinal purposes. We're within a 30 minute drive to Bryson City where you can board the train at the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad for hours of fun in the mountains. The Cherokee Indian Reservation in Cherokee, Harrah's Casino, Oconoluftee Visitor Center & Pioneer Village at the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Hwy. 441 is a 45 minute drive from the chalet. So come for a visit and enjoy the sites on this side of the Smokies. We're a quiet place yet abundant with outdoor recreation, scenic drives and natural wonders...

If you need to cancel your reservation, rent paid & applicable taxes will be refunded less any third party fees if chalet is rerented for same dates. No additional charge for rescheduling reservation dates.
   
• Other Fees: No additional charge for housecleaning after your departure. Rent Rate for 2 nights is $135 per night. Rent Rate for 3 or 4 nights is $120 per night Rent Rate for 5 nights is $500 Rent Rate for 6 nights is $510.
