Description of the Rockport vacation home rental
This home sits on a small point on the eastern shore of Copano Bay. You are right on the bay...not on a canal - not a "bay view" - not 'bay access". Step from the kitchen through French doors onto a shaded deck. The bay is at your feet. Down the stairs, a dozen or more steps across the yard and you are on the pier. In front of you is open water with the far shore miles away, barely in sight. It's the perfect family fishing spot - everything you need is right here.
You have your own private lighted fishing pier right in your backyard all to yourself. The pier has two benches, dual level platforms and a cleaning station with power and water. You have a 1200w high intensity fishing light which really brings in the fish at night! Access to a boat ramp is nearby at the causeway. Dolphin's Point is located right on the bay and in the heart of some the best saltwater fishing in the state.
The dual level platform on the pier allows for easy water level access, great for getting family in and out of the boat, and for kayakers. Beautifully landscaped with privacy in mind, this house sits on an extra large lot. Catch trout, flounder, redfish, shrimp and crab from your private pier. Feed the seagulls from the deck and watch the beautiful blue herons hunt the shallows.
Dolphin's Point has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with cable TV and a DVD player. There are two bedrooms and 1.5 baths. There is one king and one queen bed, two singles and the house sleeps six comfortably. All cooking utensils are provided as well as bed linens and towels. Please bring your own beach towels. We have just installed central air and heat and it's wonderful! Free high speed internet access. Bring food, clothes, and personal items and get ready to relax!
Drink coffee in the shade every morning and toast the sunset over the bay at night. The palm trees, the fishing, the view, and the soft air of the Gulf Coast will relax you. Our home is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Enjoy your meals out in the open overlooking the bay. Spend the day beachcombing Padre Island then spend the nights fishing our private pier under the lights.
Rockport is the fishing and birding capital of the Texas Gulf Coast. Close to Corpus Christi and Port Aransas, warm tropical breezes from the Gulf of Mexico in summer and mild temperatures in winter make Rockport, Texas your perfect year-round vacation spot.
Dolphin's Point is in the attractive Copano Ridge neighborhood, about 4 miles due west of Rockport. We are on the southeast end of beautiful Copano Bay. The water is 3-4 feet deep at our pier's end, perfect for bay fishing and boating - but no diving in! Copano bay is fantastic for fishing, but for swimming you have plenty of nearby beaches to choose from. The Gulf of Mexico is 45 minutes away on Mustang Island at Port Aransas, with Padre Island National Seashore a little further. Rockport has a calm, shallow sandy beach right in town and it the state's only Blue Wave Beach. It's perfect for smaller children since there is no current or surf.
Enjoy the serenity of the view and water at Dolphin's Point, yet it's less than ten minutes drive to most anywhere in Rockport.
Copano Bay is a nursery bay, and is permanently closed to shrimp boats throughout the year. As a result, the water is clearer, the fish more plentiful, and the fishing can be fantastic! If you don't catch your own, you can drive into town, over to Aransas Pass or down to Corpus Christi for some of the freshest seafood around.
