Area Info
Rye is located on the seacoast of New Hampshire. The area is historic with beautiful seaside cottages as well as luxurious mansions. Several sandy beaches offer swimming, surfing and sunbathing. The harbor offers boat cruises, sailing, fishing and whale watching. There are several restaurants along the shore from seafood in the rough to elegant dining with harbor views.
Portsmouth (3 miles from the Inn/house) is also a historic community with museums, art galleries, theaters, one of a kind shops, cafes and restaurants, harbor boat cruises, street fairs and so much more.
The area is picturesque with something for everyone. The fall is particularly beautiful with it's rainbow of vivid colored foliage. Winter is a time for reading by the fire or cross country skiing. Spring has it's own flavor of new growth with garden flowers and flowered fruit trees. The summer is a time for getting out and enjoying the sun with many golf courses, beach and boating opportunities. No matter what time of the year you decide to come, there is always something to do or to see that is different than any other part of the country. It is New England at it's best.
