Description of the Saint George Island vacation home rental

The Palms Retreat is a spectacular vacation home providing your family a fantastic view of the Gulf and easy access to the beautiful and private beach. It even won an architectural design award for its design and open floor plan.
Upstairs in the kitchen, living, dinning room, and two decks provide a great place to enjoy a view of the gulf. The Bay side screened porch, also on the upper level, provides a great place to enjoy any evening while surrounded by tall pines and palm trees. Relax and
enjoy that cool Gulf breeze on the decks or onthe porch. The large kitchen is completely furnished with dishes, microwave, pans, utensils, coffee maker, blender, toaster, etc. Our house is carefully maintained. Last year we installed new Jean-Air oven/cook top, dish washer, and refrigerator. You can enjoy the view of the Gulf while preparing your gourmet meal in the kitchen.
The upstairs has its own full bath and laundry area with washer and dryer. The living room is equipped with cable TV/VCR, stereo, and a pull out sleeping sofa. A second living area is downstairs and is also equipped with a cable TV/VCR.

The downstairs has four large bedrooms (2 of which are masters), 2 baths, and the living area. Each bedroom is provided with a queen size bed. Two of bedrooms have cable TVs, while the one master bedroom has a PC computer with Microsoft Office XP and dial-up connection to the internet.

Area Description

The Palms Retreat is a spacious beach home located on St. George Island, approximately 80 miles southeast of Tallahassee, Florida and approximately 15 miles from Apalachicola. The house is built in a private and 24 hour guarded community, The Plantation that has made the preservation of the quality and beauty of this unique area a priority.

My husband and I stayed in the house 3/25 - 4/1. We had a fabulous time! The ocean was less of a walk than I had expected - 2-3 minutes tops. We had 600 feet of beach on either side all to ourselves as there were hardly any other people there. The house itself was great - wonderful views, comfortable living areas, plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. It was nice sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast and enjoying the view of the Gulf. (We saw hundreds of dolphins over the course of the week.) And our "child," our dog Gordon had a blast for his first time at the beach. We were so thrilled to be in the Plantation - what a beautiful community with great landscaping, plentiful paths for walking, and friendly people. We will definitely be back to the Palms!!!

My family had a great vacation. We defiantly would recommend this house anybody who is looking for a great place for a family vacation: great environment, private, not overcrowd beaches, beautiful house.
