Description of the Salem vacation home rental

This beautiful home is located in South East Salem in the Central downtown area. It is centrally located for those who to love to check out all our local wines! Our home is completely remodeled, staying with the original architecture but updated. Beautifully furnished, comfortable firm beds and all the comforts of home are here and are ready for your stay! All you need is your food, and a tooth brush!

There is a wonderful screened in porch in back with table and chairs over looking the garden, a bridge from the street on the side of the Carriage house entering the property. Beautiful hand made picket fences with arched entry gates. Deck overlooking the stream that runs through the entire grounds for sunbathing, reading, or a relaxing glass of wine. Also a large courtyard with beautiful custom brick work. A wonderful garden of hydrangea's, fuchsia and English garden perennials. Lots of squirrels to watch in the Walnut, Filbert and Fig trees.

Area Description

The neighborhood is lined with 100+ year old trees! Walking distance to restaurants, Willamette University, Capitol Buildings, and down town area. Close to Churches and Bus lines. Walk to neighborhood parks. Also a great place for family gatherings, small weddings & meetings. One mile from the Salem hospital, for those families that need to be close to their loved one in the hospital. Great for visiting events at the Willamette University.

Close to Bush Park, Downtown Waterfront Park on the Willamette River, where you can take River boat cruise. Visit our Salem Carrousel, where all the horses are hand-crafted by the volunteers of Salem! Come ride them! Many historical sites nearby, gardens to stroll through. Walking distance to Museums and Chamber of Commerce. Come visit Salem, the "Capitol of Oregon" and see all we have to offer!

Other Vacation Rental Amenities

We are about a 15 minute drive to the Enchanted Forest, which is an amusement park for Younger children. About 10 minutes to the Salem Carousel at Waterfront park, 5 minutes to Bush Park, and 2 of the most famous predominate historic homes in the area you can tour. Walking distance to The Thomas Woolen Mill/ Knows as Mission Mills museums, where the water running though our property powers the mill to work the wool. This is a very interesting museum, with beautiful grounds, shops, cafe's and picnic grounds. The Salem Chambers of commerce is also there. Its a wonderful place to spend a day visiting.

There are several coffee shops and restaurants in the area to walk to. Come visit our local micro breweries, and there are Wineries in every direction to tour! We are just a few miles from the down town Shopping malls, and Cinemas. You will not find your self without things to do.

If you just want to relax and stay in and enjoy out cozy home, cuddle up by fireplace, there are many movies to watch, games and games to play. Lots of room to spread out and relax! We offer wireless high speed Internet access, local and long distance phone service, and of course cable TV with On-demand!

This property is not well suited for tottlers or younger children. There are many antiques, nice dishes, crystal, tons of books, etc. We do have a pack and play infant bed, high chair, folding stroller and baby toys for a small extra charge. (We disenfect all baby needs in between uses!)Little childrenwill require to be supervised closely if staying in our home!

Also if you are having a small gathering, such as graduation party from Willamette etc, we have table and chairs for up to 20 people, we can rent at a small extra charge. Catering is availible, for family dinners and get togethers. Also gift cards availible and honeymoon packages on request! Please inquire.

Rates are reduced to $100.00 a day fron the 15th day on. No tax charged for a stay of 30+ days!

Check In: 2 p.m.
Check Out: 12 a.m.
Required Stay: 2 day stay min.
Lodging Tax: 10% no tax on 30 days or more
Deposits: 50% at time of Booking, balance due no less than 14 days before arrival. Rate is up to 4 persons. $10.00 per person per night for extra people.
Other Fees: $300.00 Refundable Security/Deposit with no damage, missing or broken items. $75.00 Restocking/Cleaning fee Non refundable.

We had a wonderful stay in Salem at the house on the mill race stream. My son got married in the Zeinith Vinyard on the 1st of August. The house was a sanctuary for our family during our stay. We stayed at the Waterhouse for a week. It was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. It was the perfect place for us while we were preparing for, and recovering from, our son's wedding. The wedding rehearsal barbecue we had for the out-of-town guests and the wedding party was quite a hit. Everyone thought the house and gardens were wonderful. It was the first time most of our two families had met and the various spaces in the house, porch, and gardens let us mix in small groups and get to know one another. That made the wedding the next day that much more fun. When we asked some of the guests to join us for breakfast the morning after the wedding, we felt like we were inviting them to our own home. Staying at the Waterhouse made a special week for us just perfect.

Great house-Nice that no corners were cut with "cheap" furnishings & kitchenware. Thanks for having laundry soap, etc. Flowers-beautiful. almost like a bed-n-breakfast w/o the breakfast! Crounds lovely. So very clean. EVERYWHERE! For vacationers-High country expeditions@ McKenzie Bridge for family rafting was the best! The Silverfalls Park hike definetely wroth the time.
