Relax and enjoy your Salinas vacation in a modern, comfortable and clean suite close to the beach. Secure accommodations in a spacious private villa with patio, picnic table and hammocks. Short or long stays.

A two-suite apartment with a full cooking kitchen and appliances, microwave, coffee-maker and utensils. Bed linens, bath and beach towels provided. Air conditioning, tv, hot water, and free wifi on premises.

Conveniently located very close to everything: walk to the beach, ATMs, restaurants, transportation, grocery, boat tours, etc.). Easy transportation from Guayaquil to property by coach bus.

$69 per night for up to 4 persons, $8 per extra person per night. Two weeks advance booking with PayPal recommended.

Spacious Patio

We spent 4 nights at this apartment near the beach. We were very close to the Malecon, just a block away, quick easy access, location was good. The caretaker was very attentive to our needs and quite helpful, although he could not speak English & we cannot speak Spanish, we managed to communicate effectively. The owner was available via e-mail so he seemed to run interference for us! I was surprised that there wasn't a sink in the kitchen, maybe we should have asked for more details. We sayed in suite 2, with the two beds, linens were supplied, and the beds were quite comfortable. There were only two towels supplied, no hand towels,washcloths or kitchen towels? This might be standard for Ecuadorian rentals, we were just surprised as American tourists. Upon our arrival we noticed some water on the floor in the room with the toilet, and the TV wasn't getting proper reception. We e-mailed the owner & he had our concerns addressed immediately. Before our arrival, the owner was very easy to communicate with via e-mail and got back to us in a timely manner. He also supplied us with much information as to the attractions, restaurants, transportations in the area. Overall we had a good experience, I would just say that the kitchen for suite two was a disappointment.

Q:Where are you located in Salinas?

A:We are well located right in the middle of the tourist area just steps away from the beach, restaurants, activities, etc.

Q:How is you vacation rental different?

A:We are not a hotel, but a well-kept, clean and spacious private beach house with a secure and enclosed property and lots of room (and hammocks) to relax. The two suites are on the ground floor of the property.

Q:How is safe is Salinas?

A:There are no problems with safety in Salinas. Crime is almost non-existent and you can feel safe walking around day or night.

Q:What transportation should we take to Salinas?

A:From Guayaquil airport, take a short 5 minute ride over to the bus terminal where you can choose from a number of coach buses to Salinas. The bus stops on the same block as the property so it is very convenient. The fare from Guayaquil to Salinas is about $4.00 US and the trip is about 2 1/2 hours.

Q:How many persons can you accommodate in each suite?

A:Suite 1 accommodates two persons. Suites 2 accommodates 4 persons. You may rent both suites for a discounted rate.

Q:Can I cook?

A:Suite 1 has a full cooking and eating kitchen with all appliances. Suite 2 has a mini kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, hot water kettle, and coffee-maker.

Q:Do you have Internet service?

A:Yes, we do and its free of charge.

Q:How do we move around in Salinas?

A:Walk around the beach area. For areas nearby, you can take buses for a quarter or taxis for $3. Certified yellow cabs appear in an instant.

Q:What about places to eat?

A:There are many restaurants along the boardwalk in Salinas, and a food court in the Paseo Shopping Mall close by. For the best seafood, try the many restaurants along the beach on Ruta del Sol which will give you better quality and more bang for your buck.

Q:Are linens included in the price of the accommodations?

A:Yes they are. No extra charge for linens or cleaning. Baech towels are available.

Q:How safe is the drinking water in Salinas?

A:Not safe out of the tap. Drink only bottled beverages. If you do get sick, there is a pharmacy very close by (Bernie's Farmacia) on the boardwalk which is open all the time, even at night.

Q:Are there any ATMs around?

A:Yes, several and within walking distance on the main strip. Remember to check your with your bank regarding the fees for using foreign ATMs.

Q:Do the restaurants accept credit cards?

A:Most of them do, especially the larger ones. Again, please check with your bank about foreign transaction fees when using credit cards abroad.

Q:Any hospital or medical facility in the area?

A:No large hospital but small medical clinics that can take care of minor problems. They are a short taxi ride away within 10 minutes of the beach area.

Q:What are some of the major tourist activities in Salinas.?

A:Doing nothing, relaxing on the beach, boat rides, whale watching, fishing, golf, doing nothing again, hot spring baths, seafood restaurants, etc. You will receive our special "tips" sheet with a list of our recommendations upon booking.

Q:How is the weather in Salinas?

A:The chance of rain spoiling your vacation is very slim since Salinas has litle rainfall all year. Very hot January-April. Moderate all other months. No rain to spoil your vacation day.

Q:Where can I wash my clothes?

A:There is a small laundromat a few steps away from the property. Drop-off and pick-up service only.

Q:Is there a grocery nearby?

A:Yes, within a short walk there is a small supermarket that has most of what you might be looking for, with some really good fresh-baked pastries inside.

Q:What currency is used in Ecuador?
